Why Burn the Reshirt on Sheehan?

Tyler was very good, he throws a quick ball and I like that about him. As stated earlier, we have 2 athletes as QB's in AT and FB, and that needs to stop. It's sad when Zach Charles has 11 receptions for 37 yards...really sad. Our offense is a passing offense, it's designed to open the field for one-on-one matchups at WR and to move the ball quickly and efficiently. Brandon was blessed with J5 and Omar being able to excel in this offense, but plain and simple AT can to an extent, and FB can't at all. I'm excited about what Tyler can do, and once AT is healthy, Sheehan should be the #2 QB, IMO. His redshirt is gone, so you might as well should utilize him.

AT is the guy. He's never had the chance to fully be the guy and get 3 or 4 games in a row in charge of the offense. Once he's healthy, we need to give him the rest of the year to earn his job for next year. If he doesn't do that, then Sheehan, Glaud, and AT go into open camp battle next year.

Yes, lets start him for the next three years based off of a quarter and a half of work.Thats seems a bit extreme.FalconFanKM wrote:I also agree with keeping Sheehan in. Let him play the rest of this year, and start him for the next 3 years. That's my opinion.
Turner is a sold QB, he is still developing as well.
With thtat said, start Sheehan until Turner returns, then start Turner until he loses the job.

I agree. Sheehan showed some good stuff and some mistakes. Let him play over Barnes until AT gets back and let AT play until he loses the job.
The one thing I liked most about having Sheehan in, though, is that Kent knew he wasn't a 'run first' QB like Freddie and AT and that opened things up a LOT. Suddenly we were getting decent runs out of our RBs and still having the chance to throw passes. I guess in the end it just made our offense a little less predictable.

Good catch, I guess I should have worded it differently. What I should have said is "He wasn't necessarily going to be used as an athletic 'run him on every down' QB like FB and AT are".Jacobs4Heisman wrote:AT isn't a run-first QB. Brandon and Stud just treat him that way.
