rocketfootball, your capacity for rationalizing and excusing anything even remotely negative about Toledo continues to amaze me.

The university should fire the PR people they have on staff and just send out your three paragraph manifestos as their offical press releases. You really need to be compensated for the semimonthly attempts at damage control you do on here!

It's no damage control Joe. Everything I said is just plain fact. Toledo is still under the 925 APR for the three year average and we already took our lumps for those lost scholarships just like many other schools that got hit. And at the same time a year ago changes were made at UT to help get the APR up and last year's APR was 944, proving that the changes are working and UT is in the right direction.

That's all I said and it is fact. There's no rationalizing or excusing in that. *****Edited by Flipper to remove insult*****

In RF's defense, Toledo had the largest IMPROVEMENT in the MAC .The two year average still hurts us but its certainly not as bleak as you all would like to believe. Also its obvious, (and if the NCAA understands this whole thing they are the only ones) that BCS schools have a special out-as I understand it its the squad size adjustment thing for now. Since they control things by dint of money they will never appear here in droves and the really big schools will never appear here at all.

By the by, and I know this is a football forum, but if it wasn't for that pesky Columbia University and that bastion of Southern gentility Davidson, we would be number 1 in the nation for basketball. So...it's all good. And I did it in two paragraphs.

Well sure, and Phil Margera lost a ton of weight on "Celebrity Fitclub"...more than anyone else on the show. Of course, he's still a lardass...
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Between throwing people through windows, shotguns, and gambling, the criminal justice system is kind of a natural check on Toledo's football scholarships.

It is not my intention to do away with government. It is rather to make it work - work with us, not over us; stand by our side, not ride on our back. Government can and must provide opportunity, not smother it; foster productivity, not stifle it. ~Ronald Reagan
