It sounds like it opens the door for me! Heck, I've still got my eligibility, and I can throw the ball about 25 yards, and the best part is that I can run a 5.6 40-yard dash. Talk about QB material...or maybe DL, or FB. You know, any of them will do.

I'm 6'-4/5ish and I weigh 285. I will gladly play DT if someone would kindly help me to my car after the games....and out of my car when I get home...and possibly onto the sofa.

I think I can handle it from there after a few days

Don't worry, buddy, I'll give ya a hand. As long as somebody is willing to scrape me off the field to do so. I'm 6'0, 245, so I'm not really sure what position that puts me into except FB.

Frankly, I don't care who our starting QB is as long as he can lead us to the MAC championship. For a couple reasons though I hope that AT can step it up in the last 3 weeks of camp and take the 1st team role back from Tyler. First, so that MACMAN can run away, but, more importantly, so that AT has a shot to live up to the hype from when he came to BG. The kid's physical tools are way too good for him to be riding the pine. Here's to hoping he finishes camp strongly.
Damn, Grad. I was thinking the exact same thing as you. I want a QB, whoever it will be, to lead us to the title...period. I don't care who it is, what color they are or anything else. We MUST have someone step up and take the Falcon by the talons. I am still pulling for AT to come around but know this is it for him...this is his last shot. As for Glaud? I've learned this...don't be surprised if he is 2nd string when the season begins. I've been told he looks every bit as good as TS and AT but lacks the experience.

Nate Brown will be RS-ed unless he simply blows everyone's doors off. He could be the QB of the future.

We'll find out who wants the job the most...and kickoff is only 434 hours away. :drinkers: :supz:

Flipper wrote:BGfootball...do you think the coaches are really settling on Sheehan or are they trying to light a fire under AT by working him more with the second unit?

AT more or less got the starting gig by default last year and the year before when Omar got hurt...that isn't the way you want to pick a QB.
It sure sounds like Brandon wants somebody to step up and TAKE that job, but neither Sheehan nor Turner seem to be doing that right now...does this open the door for Glaud?
Its really hard to answer that question. More and more it is starting to look like Sheehan is going to be the starter, but they definately have been on ATs ass and pushing him just as hard. I personally hope AT can come around in the next few weeks and win the job back, but the coaches really have been favoring TS lately.

As far as Glaud goes, I dont think he is ready to be a starter yet, maybe in the future. Although AT and TS havent proven much yet, I still believe they are both better then AG at this point. AG is one of the hardest workers on the team and a great leader and hes only in his second year. It would be nice if he could come around in the next year or so.

Nate Brown has one hell of an arm, he throws some bullet passes. He struggles running the offense right now, but hes still learning the system so I guess that is expected. I could see him turning in to a great QB down the road, but as for this year, I would have to assume that he will be red shirted unless the other 3 are completely miserable.

It woun't make a bit of difference if our QB's don't come around....if AT doesn't step up and seize this job, I will be concerned come September 01.

AT cant come around, its imposible did you watch him at all last season, he is not ever going to be a good qb...this is season is lost esp if try it with him.
This is an absurdly ignorant comment. The number of players (especially QBs) who have gone from looking lost to becoming stars is unfathomable. It happens all the time, and it could potentially happen here...especially when you're talking about a QB like Turner who has all the physical tools and has just not put it together mentally.

I wasn't enthused about his play last year, and quite frankly I'd just as soon look in another direction than try to wait him out any longer. Still, to make a statement like that certainly makes one think Flipper may be on to something.
Have you ever seen some one try to play gold that just doesnt get it? Has no ability and just keeps trying. Sure they "play golf" alot...and have fun...but they suck and could never be considered competitve. AT is this person, but he trying to be a QB the leader of a football of team...listen its real simple...either youve got or you dont and last years preseaon he showed he did not have a glimmer and then he proved it inthe season time and time again he did not gain any composure all season, and he doesnt have this preseason...he SUcKS. GB just like beating dead horses and he sucks as a HC...he was a good OC...but hes no head coach...
AT will likely lead the MAC and D1 in ITN this year
shut up already, ur the one beatin the dead horse...you just have beef with AT for some reason...I think its funny how you call AT a "crack head" and such names like that, yet a thread I read the other day talking about charles sharon, you were congratulating him on how hes doing, even though his off the field incident recently...why do you not hold all players to this standard? or is it ok, because hes in the pros?
If must know my thoughts I think he was complet idot and that any organization that has any credibility would have droped him...they did not and while I AM NO FAN of his now...I can still be happy for him he seems to be making the most of this 2nd chance and while I doubt he will be able to maintain living a life that will be trouble free he is playing good football right now and seemingly clean. for that I am happy for him.
but my issue with At is deeper than his pot head stupidity he is factually a bad qb and is one of the worst I have ever seen at bg.

I don't know about you, but I think it is high time that someone starts deleting MACMAN's ramblings until he at least learns how to form a sentence or even begin to come close to using some form of punctuation!

I've edited some of macboy's posts...in instances where he's made allegations about people that are factually not true. I don't want to delete posts that are simply poorly constructed or filled with the usual venom towards some college kids he doesn't even know...I mean how the hell does he know what kind of person AT is or will be?, he's just demonstrating his own ignorance and bias with a statement like that.

Posting stuff like that says volumes more about him than any of the people he's talking about. If he wants to continually make an ass of himself, I'm not going to get in his way.

If Grant wants to just ban him outright...that's his call...

I think AT's experience will get him the job at the end of the day, even if TS gets the starting job for the 1st game. By the second game we would see AT out there starting. This competition is good for TS, Glaud and AT, because it making them both bring out the best in each other.
So it's all good.

Boy if we could have the AT that played in that spring game before Omar's last year, we would be set. Maybe it was the defense that day...hmm....
