I've been hearing all of this D1-AA talk since entering my freshman year at BG back in '93. It's not gonna happen.
I don't know all of the details with the whole Dakich debacle, but why take any stock in what he has to say at this point. He's gone... Let the new era begin and hopefully we can break out our dancin' shoes before another 39 years pass.

Anyone hear Dan on 1470 today?
According to him, we're "The Marching Band Crew..." apparently a reference to my history in the bands at BGSU.
Also Norm finds it interesting that people are willing to post their opinions here, but won't call into his show.
This site gets 2000 different Falcon fan visits a day... I wonder how many listen to Wamer's show? Also, I think (for those here who do identify themselves) posting here is actually quite a bit bolder than calling into a radio show in a market like Toledo. You say something on his show and that's it. It's gone. No podcast, no transcript, nothing. You post here and it's here forever. Google/Yahoo/Inktomi/et. al. see to it that the entire world can find it.
My name is Grant Cummings. I was a mellophone squad leader in the BGSU Falcon Marching band and a 4 year member of the men's and women's basketball athletic bands and I posted this. Oh yeah, I also went to every home men's basketball game last year, supporting a floundering program... a lot of the players left, but I didn't.

Just like Dan's later years this alleged radio show is falling flat on it's face. Sorry, radio sound bites of listeners cannot compete with the complete thoughts and responses of posters.
Grant, are you suggesting he is ripping of the band? Who next? He'll have no friends left in BG very soon.
By the way, I post and I can't play a note (or carry a tune).

I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.
Actually, I listen to Wammer periodically, but today I was listening to Kevin and JP do their BG Falcon Preview show on WCWA 1230 am, and it was quite entertaining. It had 3-4 football players, Coach Brandon, GC, and many of the other administrators. I'm going to check this show out on a normal day and see if it is a as good as todays show.

Actually, there ARE a lot of former bandos on here... amongst those with more than 1000 posts, I count 8 out of 48, or about 17%.
I wonder what the percentage of Alumni/Falcon Club Members/Season Ticket Holders is...
@Turf... yeah... I took it as a rip on the band, and on me personally. I find it pretty funny since after a loss this past season, Dan actually called me at home and asked if I could help organize a band for a upcoming game that fell when class wasn't in session.
In any event, I wish him well... I just really wish he'd let BGSU go... his comments and views are pretty irrelevant at this juncture.
He's obviously reading this site though...

I was never in the band...I don't play an instrument...I can barely tap my foot in time. I've listened to Wamer's show in the past...but I don't do so regularly because it's pretty dull. I listen to WSPD take apart th emayor because that's entertaining in smallish doses or my ipod.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

I was not in the Band...... I didn't even date anyone in the Band..... and I live outside of the broadcast range of any Toledo radio station. So..... I post here. Like Grant, I am also not hiding..... my webiste is linked in my profile...... anyone can see who I am.
If DD is ripping on BG, his conduct is absolutely unprofessional and classless.
However, the bigger issue is that there were a lot of DD supporters on this site and at BG. For DD to disrespect BGSU and his supporters is shameful. If fact DD..... I'm embarrassed for you.
But then again..... what should we expect from someone who wears short pants (or sweat pants) to work.

Dakich wore hot pants to work? Interesting.Tech83 wrote:But then again..... what should we expect from someone who wears short pants (or sweat pants) to work.
I wasn't in the band, either. In fact, I liked to pretend they didn't exist until Grant forced my hand.
Okay, that's not entirely true... I wonder what ever happened to that one girl and her cans... I mean, um, personality...
