Power available?

Post by Class of 61 »

Grant,
I have a portable generator, but unfortunately, due to my "recovering" busted arm/hand probs., there's no way I could get it into my trunk... However, IF we ARE gonna have a power source, I CAN bring a 30 cup coffee maker with cream/sugar etc. Let me know ASAP, so I can plan for it. Was hoping to leave Cleve. area by 8 to get to BG by 10:15 or so... may have to leave earlier to allow for coffee etc.

Freak, did you get the email I sent you re: UT game? Let me know on Saturday if you want... no rush.

Just reading this thread is making me so excited for the game! I just wish I could be there to say Hi and hang out for a bit, but alas, band calls.

Can't wait to see your tent though! I'll be looking at it with longing as I stand in the coldness that is the Doyt thinking "wow, they have heaters over there" not to mention a bunch of awesome Falcon fans such as yourselves!!

I have been told we SHOULD have power. Last year's problem has been attributed to an overload on the circuit breakers d/t the amount of tents and power consumption thereof. They aren't expecting as many tents for this weekend so everything should work. They are positioning us with an outlet just outside the tent. So I'll leave the coffee decision up to you. If it's convenient, that's great, but don't kill yourself just to bring coffee. ;-) Most of us will be drinking other things at that point. :partyman:

Grant,
Thanks for the quick response.... It's not a "killer" to bring the coffeemaker along...not heavy by any means...just thought someone might like to get "warmed up" with something other than what I know most people will be drinking.

Will bring it along...leave it as an "option" to use or not.

Grant,

My father has a propane heater that just screws onto a propane tank. It would probably heat better than any electric heater would. I'll have him bring it along if you think we may want it. It might be pretty chilly around 7AM on Saturday!

That would be sweet!! Do you have propane? I just filled up my tank for my grill, I could bring it if his bottle is empty.

Bring it along, because I think the only tank we have that is still full is the one on the fryer. If we're going to deep fry we'll need 2. If we don't deep fry, we'll just use that tank.

I'm gonna bring a big coffee cake for the tent. Just keeping with the breakfast theme...
