No one should ever turn down something the MAC fought two decades for...
If you want to be big time... you have to be on TV...
If you want to be big time... you have to have kids see you on TV...
Local or not this was better in the long run....
and as for the promotions, these are planned well in advance and are dictated by sponsors, which are then run by the marketing and promotions...
Was there an editing truck to do quarter highlights? Not likely. You have to crawl before you walk... BG doesn't yet have those capabilities, and they might not ever.
I think it is a travesty that there are those of you who believe the marketing and promotions department does nothing to get fans to the game. They do what they can with their budget and they are not just limited to the football team. They do Volleyball, hockey, baseball, football, basketball. It isnt as if they can focus on just two teams for a season. Everyone gets promoted because you cant show favoritism just because only fans show up in mass for basketball, hockey, and football.
There is more to BG then just three sports.

OK, now I'm totally confused.
I thought my first comments were pretty succinct and understandable. You guys are just making a clusterf*** out of my words!

Oddly enough, I looked around and guessed between 18+19K, based on fact that EAST side stands seemed more crowded than the Fam. Day game against WMU, but the WEST side student area wasn't nearly as crowded as the week before.... and I'm assuming that Family day DID bring in quite a few folks into that section last week.BGGrad01 wrote:Like everybody else, I thought there were more than 18K in attendance. It was a good crowd, though. It seemed like everybody was really into it while the outcome was still in doubt. The bottom line is that we must get more casual fans into the Doyt next year. I think the only way to do that is start out hot like we did last year. For us to get the non-diehards, we need to either win at Wisconsin or play them down to the wire. I'll be there at every game and I know everyone else on here will also, but the casual fans are only going to come if we get off to a good start.
