hanging out with melvin cole will get you into situations like these. that kid is one big ball of trouble. he was supposed to be the "man" after pope was gone but he went and got himself shot and was unable to play football anymore. and how many of you REALLY knew loren aside from bg functions. remember everyone KNEW OJ was the man and was this nice guy in public and we all know how that ended up......

I'm not throwing either kid under the bus at this point. All we know for certain is that the cops found cocaine. I don't think it's been established who owns the car or the duffel bag the drugs were in. For all we know Hargrove....or Cole...could have been a clueless patsy, simply along for the ride with a guy who's hauling drugs.

13ABC said that the cocaine was going back to Bowling Green, but no word if it was to be sold or used for personal consumption. Loren also stated it was a "misunderstanding", but I have no idea how you can plead that excuse in a situation like this.
Just serves as another life lesson for those who are ready to leave college and enter the real world how easily you can mess up your life. I'm sure the coaching staff with address the team about this situation, as I'm sure plenty of players are friends with Loren.
Disappointed doesn't sum up how I feel about this. Black eye on the football and athletics program in general.

I agree, but where would they get that information?Rightupinthere wrote:That statement should put the AD at DEFCON one.jpfalcon09 wrote:13ABC said that the cocaine was going back to Bowling Green
It's not like Loren was giving interviews to anyone but the police and any information that the police would provide the media on the issue would have to be basic and strict fact in nature until trial and this seems purely speculative. I am not saying he wasn't headed back to BG. BG had a coke issue going on when I was there actually so he very well might have been. However, for this information to come out at this point it seems a bit presumptive and even sensationalist.

Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeah. It's called "internal investigation." There was coke back when I was in BG as well - as it's also present at most other institutions of advanced learning. That's not what is at play here. I believe the relationship Hargrove has with current ath-a-leets would be a portent for the AD.
As goes the athletic program, so goes the image of the university. The AD can and should control this sort of activity and this story SHOULD put them at DEFCON one.........which goes back to my original post.

Like I said in my previous post. I agree. The fact that a recent ex football player with relationships too current players is in such trouble should have the athletic department and football staff on alert. I just am skeptical about the report that he was headed back to BG with the stuff.Rightupinthere wrote:You're right. Don't sweat it, Mr. Christopher! Does Cole and/or Hargrove still live in BG? It's not uncommon for ex-players to hang around for the summer even after they graduate.
I would imagine that either Cole or Hargrove mentioned this to the police when asked where they were headed.
It's not like their destination would incriminate them in anyway.

Exactly...we don't know if Cole or Hrgrove were transporting the drugs to or through Bowling Green. I can't imagine why anyone who knew that they were transporting drugs would engage in an altercation with someone...I'd love to hear the full story on the initial incident...who threw the trash, who was more belligerent (or maybe they were equally obnoxious). I can see allowing a search of the car, if you say "no" then they're just going to asume you're hising soemthing so they'll arrest you for the "trash" charges and get warrant for the car. You know they'll find it then. Let them search on their own and they might think you're ok and niot dig too deeply.
I'm looking forward to everything coming out as the story unfolds

Whatever happened at that hotel, this is baaaaaaaad news. I agree the AD and football staff need to be at "DEFCON" one.
Damn....as much as I want to know what happened, I don't.

Flip, good point. Why would you draw attention to yourself????
