A lot of Herd Fans are picking BGSU on Saturday
Re: A lot of Herd Fans are picking BGSU on Saturday
Good call, ya know, since 98% of our team is NOT even from WV.

Now now, it might be hard for WV high school players to make it past Marshall's admissions standard. [sic]VDub26Falcon wrote:Horrible in-state recruiting...no wonder you guys blow!Aaron wrote:Good call, ya know, since 98% of our team is NOT even from WV.

Re: A lot of Herd Fans are picking BGSU on Saturday
I find it interesting a Marshall fan complaining about treatment of a fan. A fan base known for yelling racial slurs at opposing players. Also I still remember the MAC Championship game between Marshall and Toledo in Huntington where security had to be brought in to protect family members and school officials from fans. A pregnant women had to be escorted out for her safety.
I grew up outside Huntington and know Herd fan real well. The reputation is so bad that the only way to get my mother to go to the game was to buy tickets in the BG section even though we could get tickets cheaper from people we know. She is fearful and won't allow go tailgating because she is afraid of what will happen to her two Bowling Green graduates.
I have also been yelled at after a basketball game in '99 after Anthony Stacy kept nailing threes to thwart Marshall. What did I do to deserve being yelled at? Wear a BG hockey jersey. If the above incident happened, I would be against any falcon fan yelling at a mother of a player. I still think it's odd that a Herd fan brings up bad behavior from fans. Maybe this will be the trip Huntington proves me wrong and I can get in and out of the stadium without a problem, doubt it.

Lol...I like how "Standard" was singular...I'm going to start a thread to see what people think that one standard is.

I dont care about the bad treatment of the fans...Personally, I love going to away games and being treated bad. I just found it funny after that game that BG fans were saying our players were disrespectful during the injury because they were arguing with your fans...funny stuff....SICSICsez wrote:I find it interesting a Marshall fan complaining about treatment of a fan. Intimidated? Not in the least. On the defensive and ready to defend and fight back as needed? Absolutely. We'll see who feels intimidated on Sunday.

In all seriousness though, how many fans does it sound like you guys will be bringing down?

I don't think intimidating is the word that most people think of "when" we think of Marshall.Aaron wrote:I dont care about the bad treatment of the fans...Personally, I love going to away games and being treated bad. Not sensitive at all.
I love being talked bad to when I am at a road game. Makes me feel better than someone saying, "hey guys, welcome to _______"

Makes sense. Guess you would have to be pretty masochistic to be a Marshall fan.Aaron wrote:Not sensitive at all.

Right on. Darn those other team fans for welcoming you to their stadium, and maybe striking up a friendly conversation, and perhaps, even having a beer with them. Those A--holes!Aaron wrote:Not sensitive at all.

You enjoy intimidating my 70 year old mother?
There is a difference between intimidation and being jerks. If someone wants to have fun that's fine. Threats on peoples lives... not so much. Just stay up in Campbell Creek and yell at the kids to "Get out da holler, it's my land!"
