Question, is Jason Rice healthy enough to play at all?
Although he didn't play on offense last year until the Kent State game, he did play on special teams coverage units all season until he got hurt. He racked up a fair number of tackles in that role.
This year, I don't believe he has entered any games whatsoever. If he's been fully converted to linebacker, I'd expect he'd at least still be part of that unit even if just on a part time basis.
The fact that he's not even listed on the participation report for the Boise State game when pretty much everyone healthy and not a redshirt target went in, might be telling us that his absence may be more than a coaches decision and slip on the depth chart.
I have no idea whether he is or not... but if he's still fighting through health issues that might also have been a factor in converting him away from RB.
