The reality is that bg on tv leads to better recruits (atleast I assume thats the reality because recruits like to say they will be on tv for the nation to see them) which leads to a better program which has been shown at the highest levels (After you win achampionship your school improves scholastically as well) to lead to more applications to the school and more applications leads to better overall students. It's a big cycle.
I get how the last point sounds.....I still go to a couple Saturday games a year, but I won't skip another day of work for crappy weather like the Miami debacle of 2006 or the Buffalo game in 2008. For me, the combination of odd Saturday start times (some at noon, some at 3, some at 7), weeknight games, and average team play has drained a lot of enthusiasm that I used to have for BGSU football and BGSU by extension. I'll watch on TV tonight, but it's not the same as being there.

I also understand that we're trying to reach recruits, but can anybody argue that the talent level is higher now than in the Saturday-only days of MAC football? Maybe the overall depth of high school football talent is down and that's why we're seeing less skill.

Flipper has a good point about the Thursday before Labor Day - great weather for a day off, lazy day at work on Friday, etc.
