Heading into Saturday (Nov 24), the bowl picture (70 spots) now looks like this. There are 64 bowl-eligible teams as of now. Today West Virginia and Central Michigan became eligible while Marshall was eliminated from the picture. On Saturday, there will be 12 games played that will either put teams in or out of the picture (except for UConn and Pitt which need to win Saturday and also their next game too, and Baylor would need a win next week if it loses on Saturday but is in if it does win). If at last 6 of those 12 lose, BG will be in a bowl. Below are those 12 games:

Tulsa at SMU (need Tulsa to win)
Conneticut at Louisville (need Louisville to win)
Indiana at Purdue (need Indiana to win)
Rutgers at Pittsbugh (need Rutgers to win)
Virginia at Virginia Tech (need Virginia to win)
Baylor vs Texas Tech (need Texas Tech to win)
Troy at Middle Tennessee (need Middle Tennessee to win)
Vanderbilt at Wake Forest (need Vanderbilt to win)
Michigan State at Minnesota (need Minnesota to win)
Rice at UTEP (need UTEP to win)
Mississippi State at Mississippi (need Mississippi State to win)
Missouri at Texas A&M (need Texas A&M to win)
GO BG!!!

Not a good start to the day so far....in all five of the noon kickoffs, all five of the games we are can use help in, the teams we need to win are all losing. Tulsa, Rutgers, Louisville, Virginia and Indiana are all trailing so far.

Anymore than 72 and it gets dicey. BG is in front of OU and Central in the MAC pecking order.

Tulsa (undefeated in CUSA) down 28-6 at 5-6 SMU...#18 Rutgers with a BCS bowl on the line down 21-0 at Pitt who is 4-6 and has won just one conference win...#20 Louisville with a BCS bowl on the line down 10-0 at home at halftime to 4-6 UConn who has also just conference win.....wow......

Georgia Tech wont be eligible at 6-7, unless there are 69 teams. Correct? Assuming they don't come back from down 28-3 today and FSU beats them next week.

I believe they can still go if a loss in the conference championship sends a team below .500. I believe Miami-Ohio actually had this happen a few years ago.

Indiana is now also trailing Purdue now....I can't believe Louisville is being shut out at home by UConn like this.

that exception was allowed for ucla last year and no longer exist. all bowl eligible will be placed before a team at 6-7 or 6-6 (wihout enough bowl qualifing wins).

dc sounds like a very strong possibilty, alabama as another landing spot. nothing will be slotted til after the mac championship

st pete really likes toledo, but someone has to go to boise as the mac #3(tol/ball st).

I'm really impressed by Rutgers. They're so dominant that they go to the Big Ten soon. They're so good that they could get a BCS bowl after getting their butts whooped by Kent State. And now they're so dominant that they're getting whooped by a not good Pitt team. Big Ten, are you guys happy?

Hell yes the Big Ten is happy. "The Get" out of it has way more to do with the NYC and DC markets than it does Rutgers and Maryland.

Western Kentucky needs a win. A loss puts them at 6-6 (3-5) they would probably be first out. The Sun Belt only gets 2 bids.

CMU would probably be 2nd out. OU fans will be sweating it out. After they pimped themselves as a BCS team early on they may not even make a bowl.

Also, I really hope it's DC over Birmingham. No interest in going there.

Yep...it's about TV markets and eyeballs for the network. How soon before the B1G hoops tournamanet gets hosted by Rutgers at Madison Square garden?
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Never. If the Big East leaves MSG the ACC will move in.

Wow! We are 0 for 5 so far in these games. Hope none of this matters eventually.
