Mitch,
Count me as one who was looking for you, Mike...anyone! Went to Lot 3 where my son said parking charge was $25....for a car.... my family dropped me off so I could hopefully find any AZZers... Nada!..It was only when I saw the tape of the game that I realize that Mike WAS there, though he still doesn't answere his cell phone  Did go to alum tent and talked with several admissions staff and alum staff folks I know well, but that was it.

We got stuck on Penn.T.Pk, had to get a hotel room in town about 20 miles E. of Pittsburgh... (it had taken us 2 1/2 hrs. to go 17 miles). My son in law had the foresight to call ahead and reserve two rooms. Proved to be a wise move as several folks were being turned away only about 2 hrs. after we finally arrived there. Thurs. AM, the TPK was "better" and we decided to forge ahead... stayed overnite after the game with my youngest son, who lives in Alexandria. Only sad thing for me was that my oldest son turned back before he got into the mess we'd been in, a smart move on his part, even though they had to travel back thru a whiteout toward Cleve. It would've been the first time in 5 yrs. that nearly all my kids AND grandkids would've been together, if my #2 son in Colo. had been able to fly in also. Oh well, my daughter, who did ALL the driving just said, "Dad, if BG gets the Military Bowl again sometime, we 'ain't going'". Couldn't say as I blamed her. It's the problem with cold weather cities hosting bowl games...but then watching Rutgers and V.Tech play in a monsoon brought back memories of Mobile the first time. \:D/

Sorry it didnt work out. I need to get your number.

Correction: it was Colonial Parking not Capitol.

Anyway, here was one of the emails I received from the Military Bowl:

Here is the information you requested on the parking lots:

Parking Operations
The parking operator for RFK Stadium is Colonial Parking. To contact Colonial Parking, call 202-608-1114. Public Parking is available in lots 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8 and 9 at a cost of $20 per car and $40 per bus.

We had a great time tailgating even though the lot "help" was questionable at best. Mrs Freak, in her wisdom, advised me to just go with the flow. These cats "running" the parking were something else. Half the time ya didn't know who was legit or not. Lol.

Looking forward to next season.
I'M SOOOO VERY happy that you were able to get tickets! THAT part bothered me a lot...that I had YOUR tickets with me in Bowling Green! I was very upset that we bought your tickets as our "Military Donation Tickets" and then were NOT able to give you the tickets to use!! So I'm also, VERY thankful for everyone (FREAK!!) that offered tickets to you, Mitch!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

We appreciate you getting the tickets for us. Wished you could have made it, but looking at how much snow MD, PA and WVA got on our ride back home I think you made the right choice.

We made it back home last night. We extended our trip by one day since there was snow in the forcast for Saturday. We had mostly clear weather except for some snow in Western MD.
