Either they're getting a nice raise or something happened between them and Babers this year. As far as I know they don't have any direct ties to Montgomery or anyone from the Baylor staff.
That scenario comes to mind. But it isn't necessarily the case. I have no doubt about these guys getting a raise. The old Tulsa head coach was said to be making $650,000 to $750,000 (about double what we pay) and the program basically acknowledged to the Tulsa World that they were going to have to step up salaries even more now that Tulsa is in the American.

As an offensive coordinator or a co-offensive coordinator at Baylor since 2008, Montgomery knows as much about that offense as anyone. Perhaps he locked in on our OCs, knowing their commitment to this offense and the scarcity of people who know it and offered to double their salaries.

Welcome to college football. Babers must be a little miffed too considering he brought them along from EIU. Be interesting to see who gets the job.
Let's get people committed to Falcon football and this community. Let's get people who overachieve and not underachieve. Let's get people who coach players and make in-game adjustments when the defense in on the field and not just stand around. This is an opportunity to improve the program.
100% agree. If someone doesn't want to be at BGSU, make room for another that wants to be here.

A few names available that would make sense:

Eric Wolford, former Youngstown State head coach (OL background)
Chris Hatcher, former Murray State head coach (QB background)
Karl Dorrell, former UCLA head coach (Babers' former boss in Westwood)

Let's take the $1.2 million from the Tennessee game and put 500k towards the salary pool for assistants, 500k towards the recruiting budget and 200k towards the head coaching position (from 400k to 600k). If Western Michigan is going to pay skippy $800,000 for an 8 win season a new bar has been set in the conference.

Sounds wise to me. Atleast the last part anyway. Problem is we need a Babers guy.

Pretty sure there was no outreach to the players regarding this. Obviously this will have an impact on some players more than others (offense vs. defense), There probably should have been something as players develop relationships with position coaches. When they find out well after the fact, nothing good comes from that. The lack of information will allow young minds to fill the void with a lot of things that are not accurate and unhelpful to the development of a team. Not good timing to have these kind of questions. Jobs are opening up, coaches moving, new kids being recruited, existing players being courted to new schools with new coaches, etc. Gotta protect your players . . .
