Re: Back to the Shoe
What position did you play zete...I'm assuming you played D1 football someplace since you seem to know what plays should be made with ease...
I think it's BS to call someone out for missing a tough play 15 years ago when he wasn't the only guy who (maybe) made a mistake at a key point in the game.

Flipper writes well and makes some great post.CrazyFan wrote:Flip plays the position of the dick, as he just called you. What he does is he takes any topic, takes the opposite position on it so he can argue with you, acts like his opinion is the only one that matters, blasts anyone that doesn’t agree with his opinion and treats them like their stupid, and then moves on.zete wrote:No doubt a tough catch...one a DI player needs to make. What position did you play Flipper?
But in the 15000 + post he has made taking the "position of the dick" a good part of the time seems to be something he thrives on/gets off on. It's too bad because it takes away from his credibility.

Actually, Notre Dame told him NO.bgdodgeball4 wrote:If Urban wanted to go to Notre Dame, he could pick they date they would hold the press conference.
He wanted them to lower the admissions requirements for football players and the university administration said NO.
So he jumped off their plane, boarded the Florida plane and went to Gainesville. And then told the players to stop thinking about leaving college early for the draft because UF gave them a scholarship to play football for the Gators for four years and they needed to worry about that instead.

Yeah right!
Re: Back to the Shoe
Guess what? Had he caught it, who says we win? I've went back and watched that game in the past year or so. How about blaming our qb who was borderline bad and tentative for 3 quarters before waking up for the fourth quarter.zete wrote:No doubt a tough catch...one a DI player needs to make. Go watch that game if you are ever bored. We were lucky to be only down 17 in the 4th quarter.
Re: Back to the Shoe
I have seen it and a few times.
Patton's interception was electric and could have been the game changer. The dropped ball and the interception immediately afterwards stopped our momentum cold in the third quarter. We regained it late with some breaks but the score surely could have been worse than it was...
We had a lot of talent on that team; a half dozen or so that had NFL ability. To play with a top ten team that type of talent is needed. Not sure wel will have that in place in 2020. Not sure will even have a coach in place in 2020.

Just find it bizarre that so many fans still single out one player from that day when there was a long list of missed opportunities for three quarters. I mean damn even if he catches it I still say the odds are not in BG's favor to win. It's not like OSU would have thrown their hands in the air and been like damn well they scored on a trick play, guess we will lay down.
Re: Back to the Shoe
Well, it was Ohio State....not like an obscure MAC game up at Eastern. But your are right let's give it a rest and hope for the best in 2020 and in the meantime concentrate on taking out MSU.

Re: Back to the Shoe
Of course the game didn't turn on one play...only an idiot thinks that a game that contains literally dozens of plays is changed by one of them. There may be more memorable plays or sequences of plays than others...but, if you break a game down play by play...you'll find that there were a lot of plays that were just as important in determining the final outcome.
and those of you that think it's super easy for a 250+lb guy to bend and come back to a ball below his knees...well...you've probably never been a 250+ lb guy trying to do anything athletic

Why? Because you find that you've staked out a position you really can't defend and rather than just admitting that you doubled down on it?

We are two or three posts from him going on his when to hit a woman scenarios again. If it's Amanda Cyclopse it's ok if I remember correct. Moralist by day, flippers by night. It all about the opposite argument to feel smart.
For all of you men, it's vital to play the what if scenarios of a confrontation with a female MMA fighter out before you are in fact in that situation. We've all been there. Oh, and don't you dare question if a player 15 years ago should or should not have made a catch.
