What a terrible argument.
Jinks will be judged for his on field merit, as he should.
That, and whether he runs a clean program, which he seems to be doing.

Hold on. We don't know what Guyton did wrong at Oregon State. Clearly he did something, else he'd still be a Beaver, but we don't know what it was.

Accountable, no, but it would reflect badly upon the boss. Personal decisions carry over to work, and the boss made the decision to hire the employee and provides guidance at the workplace. So if that employee does something seriously bad in personal life, yes that is a poor reflection upon the boss.

He is running a clean program? Beach brawl goes viral and embarrasses the program. Multiple arrests and players dismissed. Heck, it's only June 7th. This is just what's happened since March.
Its also a real clean program when you hire a coach to be the #2 guy in charge after he was "allegedly" snorting cocaine off his desk 4 years ago. There's that BGSU Athletic Department Double Standard! I knew I'd find it somewhere!
Saying a coach runs a clean program is a pretty low bar to clear. It basically means that there are no academic or recruiting scandals. Instead of judging a guy by the minimum he should be doing, I would rather judge him by his accomplishments. I mean, my annual performance review at work does not include "shows up to work promptly", "does not fall asleep at work", "does not cheat", "does not commit timecard fraud", etc.

Rumor had it at the time that Brandon was on a short lease going into 2008 because of all the off field garbage that was going on. So it isn't always just about the won/loss record. But this crap isn't new to BG under Jinks....I don't think we've had a coach since maybe Urban that didn't see an arrest for drugs or something along those lines.
Doesn't make it acceptable...i just means it isn't unusual
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Not many programs can say they hired a head coach with no agent, after winning the league championship, either. That's like putting yourself on probation.

Since someone brought up Jim Tressell, it seemed worth pointing out. We've never had a major NCAA violation here. Many programs can't say that.
This is true. But my resume does not include the line "never been fired". I'd rather not hang my hat on having not done things you are not supposed to do.

It would be different if you could point to something Jinks has done great since he has been here. I can't. Oh and I give no credence in fairy tail recruitment rankings where any smuck is a 3 star nowadays.. About as legitimate as Alabama's 1941 national championship.
Most fan bases rationalize the problems in their own program and rip the rival for similar or lesser problems. Not ours!
Mid-Majors are usually the second chances for coaches (example Frank Solich) and players (example Randy Moss). Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I believe we have had some success stories. Let's be fair we don't give coaches the time to slowly build these days and therefore coaches take risks with assistants and players to get to the top quickly. Knowing that a brief fall or the failures of those recruits and/or coaches will immediately take them down they instantly run to big money from bigger programs when they do experience success. This is how it has worked for decades and that's why these threads continue to defy logic and reality.
