They wern't quick, but they weren't immobile either. I think we're basically in agreement here. Big and good is better than small and good.

Simply being big does not equate to being good though. If you're just a big fat tub, a decent Olineman is going to push you around no matter how much you weigh. If you can bench 400, pushing around 310lbs of Krispy Kremes isn't such a tall order.

My arguement isn't with the people who think we need to find good athletes who are bigger, my disagreement is with the people who look at height and weight alone in determining the worthiness of a player.

If bigger were always better, that kid Mackray would never have redshirted.

(Although I'm intrigued to see he is now at the top of the depth chart. I'm thinking he may be the biggest Falcon in history).

Let me guess: It has something to do with the girl "letting her garden grow"?

I actually prefer the garden to be a vast wasteland devoid of vegetation, but you get the idea.

He has 4.5 speed!

One rating service in LA lists him as the state's 37th best player. Recruiting guru Max Emfinger gives him 4 stars out of 5. Insider's has him at *.

Jacque Jackson, any word on this kid. He is a 3 star LB and number 67 OLB in the nation, out of Louisiana, and at last check on rivals he was heavily favoring BG.

P.S. if we can land him, this may well be our best recruiting class ever.

Searching for info on Jacques Jackson I stumbled on another line backer from John Curtis in LA that we may have our eyes on. Brandin Jordon LB 5' 11" 220. Just thought this was intersting he and Jackson attend the same HS. Info was obtained from a Mcnese State Recruting site.

Another LB on his way to BG

From the Bay City Times:

Cody Basler, a linebacker, will sign with Bowling Green State University - which has had one of the Mid-American Conference's top football programs the past four seasons - during NCAA signing day Feb. 2.

Basler, who's 6-foot-3, 225-pounds, is coming off a senior season in which he made 80 tackles and had three interceptions. He was the named the Most Valuable Player in the Saginaw Valley League, was the Times' Golden Helmet recipient as the top area player in Class A, and was named first-team All-State by the Associated Press.

He was ranked #24 in the Detroit News top 60 players in Meeechigan. He's also from my hometown. As is Madonna...

Keep your clothes on Cody. What works for Madonna doesn't necessarily work for the rest of us.
