couple of comments....
1. timchenko did kick a field goal in the SEMO game, and i believe did some kick-offs in other home games this year - he did not travel. i have heard the same criticism about him, as i have about the walk-on, that they do not have the distance on field goals, or kick-offs (not like suisham's consistent touchbacks). joe (timchenko) is a nice guy, however, and i'm sure he will continue to work hard, as he has been with suisham and the coaches. and yes, he is on scholarship, from the same junior college as runnels and vhardan.
2. nate fry was a kicker here his freshman year, which later became his redshirt year for medical reasons. i believe he kicked a few extra points. he made the switch to punter after the old punter graduate, whose name slips me now, i believe he was #40.
3. i met a recruit this past weekend who is a kicker from columbus. i believe he went to westerville north (whichever one josh did NOT go to). he told me his first choice is west virginia, who has yet to offer him, but if they do not, he wants to come to BG. he said his longest field goal in a game was 48, and he was 9/13 his senior year on FG's, while missing 2 EPs.
We are not recruiting a Kicker and here is why...

Can that name please go down in similar to fashion as Lord Voldemort?SuperFan_FutureGrad wrote:an interesting note to add as well. when nate fry was in high school, he only held the kicking duties until his senior year before taking on both kicking/punting jobs. the punter before nate - ben roethlisberger.
From here on out he shall henceforth be known as "The QB who shall not be named"

Pat Fleming, #48, 4 year starter graduated in 2002. Fleming was one of the best placement punters I have ever seen. Currently punting for Ottawa in the CFL.SuperFan_FutureGrad wrote:couple of comments....

He did dress and he was number 84.UK Peregrine Fan wrote:I could swear I saw him dressed at the GMAC game. He was standing directly in front of where I was sitting and my brother's were yelling at him. Maybe I'm wrong though?TG1996 wrote:The kid's name is Eric Soltis, I thought he was walking on this past year, but supposedly since they didn't need him till next year, he never dressed or was on the roster. He'll be a soph (I believe) from Rossford, and made some pretty big kicks for the Bulldogs his senior year.Flipper wrote:Wasn't somebody jocking some walk on kicker on the board a month or so ago?
