Midweek Maction starts tonight. Say goodbye to saturday games.

F**k Maction. Makes it impossible to keep up with this during the week. I'll update tomorrow how all the teams today did. Ball State and Akron, EMU and UT, Miami and Ohio.

MAC West

NIU 4-0
Ball State 3-2
EMU 3-2
WMU 2-2
CMU 2-2
Toledo 2-3

MAC East

Kent 3-1
Miami 3-2
Buffalo 2-3
Ohio 2-3
Akron 1-4
BG 1-4

NIU/Kent tonight in what appears to be a preview of Detroit, and WMU/CMU with the loser being all but eliminated from championship contention.

Non-conf team records:
Tennessee: 4-4
South Alabama: 5-3
Murray State: 3-5
Minnesota: 6-2

If not for BG beating Minnesota, the Gophers would probably be a top 15 team right now. They are on top of the Big Ten west. Still have to play Iowa and Wisconsin.
Tennessee has Kentucky, Georgia, South Alabama, and Vanderbilt ahead so they could well be bowl eligible. I can't imagine South Alabama beating Tennessee.
South Alabama only has to win one more to be bowl eligible but it's a rough road ahead - Troy, Appalachian State, Tennessee, and Coastal Carolina.

NIU is nearly wrapped up with the MAC west. NIU already has tiebreakers over EMU, UT, and CMU. Barring a total meltdown, NIU's coach is a shoo-in for coach of the year. Incredible because he was dismal his first two years.

MAC West

NIU 4-1
Ball State 3-2
EMU 3-2
CMU 3-2
WMU 2-3
UT 2-3 haha

MAC East
Kent 4-1
Miami 3-2
Buffalo 2-3
Ohio 2-3
Akron 1-4
BG 1-4 glad there's finally not a 0 in the W

Kent State beat Northern Illinois in a wild shootout. NIU had their first conference loss and their QB got hurt. That could be a major story.

Central beat Western. NIU already beat Central so they have the tiebreaker and WMU is out effectively.

NIU has Ball State next week. Win that and I think its sealed for NIU.

And the BG / UT game is the bottom of each divison. Never seen that before. But oddly enough both teams still have a shot at a bowl.

Ball State/NIU next week is the de facto Mac West title game. WMU can still get there by winning out and getting a ton of help along the way, but the odds are super slim. Kent is in the driver's seat in the East now as well and only has Akron and Miami within the division left to play.

Everyone else is playing for pride/bowl eligibility.

NIU eeked out a one point win at Ball State. Kent State got beat down by Central Michigan on the road. Miami destroyed Buffalo on Tuesday, Ohio "upset" EMU, and WMU barely beat Akron. NIU controls their own destiny, and Kent/Miami are on a collision course for their final game to determine who goes to Detroit.

Also, the East sucks.

East

Kent 4-2
Miami 4-2
Ohio 3-3
Buffalo 2-4
Akron 1-5
BG 1-5

West

NIU 5-1
CMU 4-2
Ball State 3-3
WMU 3-3
EMU 3-3
Toledo 3-3
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.

Tennessee is playing a legit competitive game with #1 Georgia right now. I don't see Tennessee winning but this is the best offense Georgia has seen all year so that can make the game interesting.

Well that game got interesting for sure. When I posted this it was a 7 point game with near even total yards, late in the first half. Then Georgia absolutely stomped on Tennessee in the second half. #1 for good reason.

Tennessee has been a different team since they switched QB’s. They are much better than the team BG faced early.

Georgia is really good. All about if they can win the big games (SEC Championship and Final Four) at this point.

NIU has won the MAC west. Never saw that one coming. Kent / Miami will be for the east.

The 2010 MAC championship was Miami over NIU and 2012 was NIU over Kent State. Both were instant classics. Hoping for another good championship game.
