I think it's interesting reading that Rolo is going to sue WSU for the remainder of his contract due to "discrimination" when it was the state's mandate. I have a buddy in administration at WSU and he said none of the suit makes any sense. Kinda sounds like Rolovich was banking on the government not having the balls to move forward with the mandates and he was truly caught off guard when they did.

Rolovich is playing the grievance card to get people behind his cause. He has no case. Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up creating a GoFundMe or some nonsense. Supreme Court has already ruled that vaccine mandates are not unconstitutional. If I was WSU, I'd be thrilled that you are able to get rid of the guy (and other coaches) who chose to value their supposed "freedom of choice" over what's best for his career and the kids he was supposed to be leading.BillyLP wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 10:48 amI think it's interesting reading that Rolo is going to sue WSU for the remainder of his contract due to "discrimination" when it was the state's mandate. Or maybe it turns out he's doing what's best for his life? Medical logic went out the window months ago. Remove the politics, look at actual data, and decide what's best for yourself. They have no idea what this crap is going to do to the body 2 years, 5 years, or even 10 years down the road. Forcing it is just plain stupid.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 11:53 am If I was WSU, I'd be thrilled that you are able to get rid of the guy (and other coaches) who chose to value their supposed "freedom of choice" over what's best for his career and the kids he was supposed to be leading.

Rather than put oneself through med school via Facebook, Google, and Breitbart, why not ask one's doctor and act on her/his advice? The Oxford vaccine has been around for a decade and in that time no one has grown a second spleen. I'm sure Rolo's doctor would have mentioned that. Mine did when I asked him that very question.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 12:21 pmOr maybe it turns out he's doing what's best for his life? Medical logic went out the window months ago. Anyway, if I were WSU I'd be a tad peeved that I now have to deal with my football coach walking out in the middle of a 3-game winning streak.

They actually do have a really good idea of the effects for up to 20 years down the road (which medically, means essentially forever). mRNA vaccines are all very similar with only slight changes to the contents based on what illness they are being used for. They've been used through limited trials since the early 2000s, and pretty extensively in trials for the last 10 years. Most ill effects are felt pretty immediately, which is why people with autoimmune diseases should probably take a beat before getting the vaccine. (I've mentioned this before, but I worked very closely with the vaccine research and development team at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for the last two years before leaving a couple of months ago. I am not personally a researcher or scientist.)pdt1081 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 12:21 pmOr maybe it turns out he's doing what's best for his life? Medical logic went out the window months ago. Heh, not to mentioned the number of kids who are likely to transfer out now, and a recruiting class which will have kids re-thinking their commitments.TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 12:38 pmRather than put oneself through med school via Facebook, Google, and Breitbart, why not ask one's doctor and act on her/his advice? The dude doesn't want to get the shot, fine. Then say it. He tried to weasel a religious exemption based on his catholic faith, when the Vatican has already weighed in that the covid vaccines are not only morally acceptable to the faith, but that one has the duty to protect one's health and to pursue the duty of the common good.
If he thinks sacrificing a multi-million dollar job is what's best for his life, he's an idiot in my opinion.

Wow some good openings!
Re: Coaching carousel
Can we please get back to debating the merits of vaccines and the constitutionality of forcing people to take them on this athletic forum. It's very clear at this point that debating the issue here will change peoples' opinion on the subject and win them over to your side of the argument, so please continue the preaching.
