Best FOOTBALL rivalry? BG-UT hands down. Overall, I might give a little more credit to Miami(OH)-OU, but still put it as 1 and 1A with BG-UT.

Best football rivalry, most definately, all around, I would say
Miami - Ohio U.

That makes perfect sense to me. After all, y'all weren't using it.

In fact, you might want to make them the same offer to go up and use their library.

I still hold that the best football rivalry in the MAC is CMU v. WMU. The records truly didn't matter in that game, even when WMU was a MAC power.

CMU and WMU fans are brutal to each other but still have that level of respect for each other deep down which makes a great rivalry...I have no respect for Toledo.

BG vs. UT

Post by jerzyboy247 »

No way else, best rivalry is BG vs. UT. This rivalry is the best in the MAC and the wmu vs. cmu rivalry is not bad. However, it seems that every year, the west division would be won by the winner of this game. Miami-OU rivalry can sit down. Miami blows them every year which in other terms does not make them a great rivalry to watch. BG v.s. UT by far the best!

Just because Miami blows them out, doesn't mean it isn't a volatile rivalry.
There is a reason the MUMB isn't allowed to Athens. Or the 110 to Oxford.

BG-UT is a good game to watch, but the history is in favor of Miami-OU(or Miami-sUCks)

Anywho, I'll root for BG. But with the CMU loss, I have to root for UT this year. Sorry!!!!

I'll give you three seconds to figure out how much I give a damn about Miami(OH) vs. OU.

Got it yet?

Speaking purely from a football standpoint, I don't think anything in the MAC compares to BG-UT. Even in BG's down years in the late 90's, it was still usually a competitive game. How long has it been since OU was even close to competitive? It takes both sides to make a rivalry, IMO.

BG-UT all the way!
agreed. we've pretty much dropped them as a "rival" though they are giddy when they beat us in basketball since they can't in football. as much as i hate marshall, they're departure has left a bit of a rivalry void that i think bg will fill (once again). so, that said, bg/ut by far the most heated rivalry though it's importance isn't what it was over the past several years now that bg is back in the east.

The FMB isn't allowed in Athens either, or the 110 in BG. (Right?) That doesn't make BGSU rivals with Ohio. It just means the 110 is obnoxious.

BG-UT, hands down, most heated/vicious MAC rivalry.

And unlike some apparently, I do have respect for Toledo-- objectively. Subjectively, I hate their guts and think their school belongs in the eighth circle of hell. As it should be in a rivalry. :)
