We've had one since the mid-1990s.
Wow, I never knew you guys had an indoor practice facility for football. I don't remember ever hearing about you guys using it for football or anything. Don't ever remember anyone bragging about it either, as I would guess it had to be the first one at a MAC school.

It is a multi purpose field house. Used for the football team, but also has about 4 basketball/volleyball courts. Football team gets dibs on it for practice but it is also used by soccer, rugby lacrosse, and intramural sports. This may be why it isn't just considered footballs practice field. It did get quite a bit of press when it was built, but again that was 12yrs ago.

did BG's fieldhouse fall down last night?

and as far as the renovation to savage hall...
are you talking about making all of the seats color-coordinated? when you're inside the arena it looks terrible. it kind of looks like the colors of a bag of skittles (all the colors of the rainbow.)

don't worry... TU bball doesn't get much TV time. you don't have to alter the seats to make it look like a full arena.

sorry. i hate getting "nit-picky" but ign'int people with an ign'int education from ign'int schools just get me so gosh darn riled up.
Good one, but I never knew that you had an indoor practice facility for football. I guess it must not be that good though if no one outside of BG knows about it and I don't remember ever hearing about you guys using one for football.

I don't really care what you say about Savage Hall..........it might be really old, but it is getting renovated and it isn't the size of a high school arena like Anderson Arena is.

Now as for the education thing, why does every BG fan have to make this crack about UT fans and their education? Especially when you don't even know what college the UT fan went to. BG might not be able to get fans from people that didn't go to BG, but UT can. I know of several UT fans that either didn't go to UT or didn't get their first degree there.

Finally, what does having a college education have to do with knowing whether or not BG had an indoor practice facility for football? Especially since I post on MACbbs all the time and can't remember anyone ever mentioning that BG had an indoor practice facility for football.

bc we don't dwell on things. there is nothing to brag about, per se. it is a great facility that is used for intramurals as well as some varsity sports. there is an indoor turf room in one wing and an indoor track surrounding 4 full-court hardwood basketball courts in another. there is also a training facility inside as well as male and female locker rooms.

just don't attack someting when you don't have facts to back yourself up.

btw, congrats on finally getting an indoor practice facility. (10 years later, ahem.)

Thanks for the info. UT has an indoor practice facility that is used for baseball and softball. The new indoor practice facility that will be part of the Savage Hall renovation (which is actually a renovation and expansion) will be a multi-purpose facility as well. It will be primarily for football, but will have a basketball court for the basketball teams to practice on when there is a concert going on in the main arena.

So if you didn't know about it that means everyone didn't know about it and "it must not be that good?" Yep, that sounds right.

BTW, Urban Meyer said several times when he was hired that the facility was better then what they had at Notre Dame, and he was one of the most vocal critics of BG's facilities.

Alright. First, what was I attacking? I asked a serious question. The post I quoted and replied to was someone joking around about Toledo fans having BG envy, which is something that a lot of UT fans joke about BG fans on. I was not attacking anything. I simply asked when you were planning to get an indoor practice facility because I didn't know you had one and I brought up that Toledo has plans to do one.

And there is no reason to brag, but on MACbbs we were talking about indoor practice facilities before and some schools were talking about what they have and what there plans were for one if they didn't have one. No one from BG posted anything that I remember so it is easy to understand that somebody that doesn't pay very close attention to your program wouldn't know you had one.

I hate to tell you patrickbg, but I don't come here to attack BG. That would be tasteless as this is your board. So don't characterize me and attack me just because I am a UT fan and you hate UT.

Well obviously I was joking and kind of using the same tone that was originally used on me.

Opened in 1993, the $8.7 million, 127,000 square foot PFH has two large wings: the turf room that is a 100 x 60 yard field covered with synthetic turf (including four batting cages), and the track room which is a 200–meter, six running/eight sprint lane track encircling four courts for basketball, volleyball, or tennis. These large rooms are connected by a center section that contains PFH administrative, Intramural, and Sport Clubs offices, shower and locker rooms, a meeting room, foyer and an information desk. The PFH also houses a fully equipped sports care center (training room), including a whirlpool. The entire facility is handicap accessible. The PFH offers recreational activity ranging from structured physical education classes, intercollegiate athletics, intramural games, sport clubs and special events, to informal “pick–up” basketball, volleyball, tennis, flag football, soccer, running, jogging and walking.

We don't have issue with someone inquiring about our facilities. However, when there's a definite smirk along with your questions it will do nothing more than piss us off.

As far as Anderson Arena goes, when it's full it's one of the most feared Arenas in the MAC. Schools refuse to play us there because of the environment.

There was no definite smirk and no reason for "will do nothing more than piss us off." If you guys are going to try and spin everything that a UT fan says to be some sort of slam against you, then maybe you should grow up a little and realize that not everyone is trying to "bring you down."

Just kidding. I guess I have either just missed those posts or don't remember, assuming that you actually said it is used as an indoor facility for football too.
