Whew!

Without totally letting anyone off the hook, and realizing that part of a coaches job is to have EVERYONE ready to play at any given moment, I think we might have seen karma come back and take a big bite out of our ass today. We have been living right for the past few years, and really have been able to avoid alot of the serious injuries that seem to affect alot of other teams. It seemed like guys were dropping like flies out there today, and the Omar injury was obviously very key. Not only did it knock our all-everything out of the game, but the big return for a TD puts points on the board and momentum on the sideline of the Broncos.

I'll be there next weekend hoping for a huge Falcon turn around!!!
Great post. Our seemingly good luck has indeed caught up to us. Everyone has to remember that momentum is a HUGE factor in college football, and when our All-American QB has to walk to the locker room in the first quarter, that would take the wind out of anybody's sails.
That said, the coaching staff should have been there to pick the guys up emotionally.

First off, Omar got hurt, as a result the entire team quit. Second, Turner did not look ready, but there were a lot of dropped passes. Furthermore we got out played by Western, they wanted the victory more. On another note, don't accuse us of being fairweather fans because we left early when we were getting stomped. Chances are those of you on here making those claims were not at the game yourself. So keep your ignorant comments to yourself.

Haha...it's a message board. All message boards are full of ignorant comments. I wasn't at the game because I live in Texas. But when I was at BG, I never left at halftime when we were losing, and rarely in those blowout wins we are all used to at home. Remember last year's Toledo game? A come back like that could have happened today. I won't call anyone a fai weather fan though, I'll just attribute it to being pissed off, whcih is understandable. However, if you do not attend the Akron game next week for the reason that we lost this week, then yes, you are a fair weather fan. I am in no way saying you won't, just trying to specify what a fair weahter fan is.

well good for you being for being in texas, at least you didn't have to watch the massacre first hand. But the point that I forgot to make is that the people accusing us of being fairweather fans are either in Arizona or in your case texas, so until you come to a game this season keep your fair weather accusations to yourself. I don't care if sat through 1000 losses or wins at the Doyt during your time.

To clarify myself, I'm not a fairweather fan. I made the trip to Ball State this year to see them play, and I'll be at the Akron game next week. I agree, people can say what they want, but don't insult anyone's intelligence by just speaking in generalities about why people leave early.

I didn't accuse anyone specifically. I do know how BG fans are, though. And fair weather is a fair assessment. Quit being so f-ing defensive.
Also, I graduated in August, so I didn't sit through "1000 losses" at the Doyt.

YOU were the one using generalities, I told you how it was. We got our asses kicked, which usually means that fans leave. I am done with you JeremyP I have better things to do than sit on AZZ.com and argue via the internet. I hope that it makes you and bleeding feel like a bigger person to call US (the ones that actually attend the games) a fair weather fan.

I'm not being defensive, I am simply telling you "online" fans how it is. Furthermore I don't care if you graduated in august, good for you. Why weren't you at the game?

Settle down everyone. If you left at halftime, well that's your decision. I don't like when fans leave early in the face of defeat and I have never done so. I don't think I'm a better fan than anyone becasue of that, it's just how I choose to do things. But if you want to leave at halftime of an ass-whooping, I'm sure you all had your reasons and you weren't alone. No biggie -- today was certainly a discouraging day.

I'm actually not as disappointed that I had to work today so I couldn't go. I would have been pissed to pay any amount of money and time to watch that performance. That was the worst performance since the recent program turnaround. Easily.

Why wasn't I at the game? For one, I live 1500 miles away. Second, my income consists of a $15,000 assistantship. Third, I'm in a docorate program that does not allow me to fly home for the weekends because I am in my office every day and most nights reading, writing and coding data.
Don't get me wrong, I wish I could come back for games, but alas, reality says otherwise.
Just take a deep breathe, perhaps pop a Xanax, drink some beer and you will feel MUCH better. It worked for me. 8)
You should care that I graduated. I hope you do at some point, too!

Plain and simple, if you are too far away, or can't afford the trip back then stop coming down on people for leaving early, you weren't here yourselves so therefore you have no arguement. buh bye

Oh, but I do have an argument. Your argument for why I do not have an argument is pretty poor though. I wasn't "coming down" on you, man. Chill out. People leaving early plagues most MAC schools, not just BG. At least you went for the first half...which is more than one can say for most in the BG area.

Actually I was at the entire game. I know that I phrased my posts like I left at half but I didn't. Furthermore if you were not at the game yourself for whatever excuse that you use thats fine. Be an online fan I don't care, we need all the fans we can get

A friend down on the field said collarbone as did another administrator. MAybe it is- maybe it isn't. Coach isn't giving anything away right now.

AFter over 30 years of watching BGSU football, I think today was the worst day. The Ankney years were painful but we didn't expect to win. But we expected to win this one- or at least try.

I feel bad for our players and our fans. Omar;s loss was a big blow- but Turner settled in ok. We had over 470 yards and only scored 14 flippin points.

Whomever said that WM wanted it more. It certainly seemed that way.

I am of the opinion that you need to put people, players or your employees in a place to succeed. We are not succeeding with the punt formation- so why set them up to potentially fail everytime. We can't kick a field goal- so why try with the offense we have? Of course, it is blocked and picked up and run back 50 yards.

I will be there next week and all the months and weeks and years after.

But Matt, if I could have gotten a ride home, I would have left early for the first time in my life. It was brutal to watch. Just brutal.

The Falcons have some work to do this week!
