Is that supposed to make me feel better or worse about next week?Falconfreak90 wrote: FWIW, Akron got shut out by a winless Army team at home yesterday, 20-0.

Has anyone else considered the notion that perhaps last year we played way over our heads? Maybe we're just not that good of a football team. I've never even considered this until this morning, but maybe we're not losing just because of bad coaching, lack of emotion, unluckiness, etc.
Maybe we're losing because we're just not that good. I dunno -- it's probably just the hangover talking.

I don't think its your hangover. I think its the truth. We were a good team last year and I don't think we played over our heads. But this year we are just mediocre. We played a great first half at Wisconsin and then it has been all downhill since. We smoked Temple, but they are just plain awful. Any team that has some talent has given us fits this year. That can happen in a game or two a season. But we now have had five of those games. Time to start looking inward at the problem. We are not nearly as good as we thought we would be.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:Has anyone else considered the notion that perhaps last year we played way over our heads? This is what really ticked me off last night. I can handle watching us lose as long as there is effort, intensity, and intelligent play. There wasn't much of any of those last night.Dr. Bucko wrote:I watched the sidelines with my binoculars and many of the players were just talking with some not even watching the game; some appeared to be telling jokes since they were laughing so hard. I was really bothered by that. One would think that they would have been on the edge of the field supporting their team-mates, urging them on.
I think Brandon needs to consider not allowing former players on the sideline. It was ridiculous last night with guys talking to TJ Carswell and Carswell laughing/joking all night. It is beyond me how you can smile and laugh when you are getting waxed by a team that you're a 25-point favorite on.
