It's not who recruits it's who does what with the available talent and chemistry.

Yes, I am. It may not be a great year for us, but there are some positives if you look for them.

Strong words from someone who has probably never played a down.
04forheisman wrote:Our four wins are against 4 of the worst teams in all of college football. We have yet to beat or come close to beating a decent football team.
Facts are facts - we have four wins. It doesn't matter how pretty they are and who they are against. Four wins is four wins.

Again, strong comments from someone who has probably neverplayed a single down. I just hope players don't take your comments as those of the entire Falcon faithful.

Don't jump back on the bandwagon when this team gets back to where we've been the past few years. We need true fans, not fans like you appear to be. I expected a lot more from someone who has the screen name you do.

transfer made this look fun, so I want to play, too!!!!
04forheisman wrote:Are you still positive?
Yep, sure am! Disappointed that our lofty expectaions haven't been met, but positive that the Falcons still have a chance to attain the main goal for 2005 - the MAC title.
04forheisman wrote: Take off the orange and brown glasses and admit that this team is complete garbage.
Complete garbage? Um, no. Below expectations? Yes.
04forheisman wrote:We are bad on all phases of the game, and absolutely dreadful on 2 of the 3.
Our defense has been dreadful - at times, but has also played well in spurts. Our special teams have been dread - most of the time. While our offense has not lit up the scoreboard like a Christmas tree, it is unfair to condemn it as "bad."
04forheisman wrote:We are a poor borderline horribly coached football team.
That's a borderline horribly constructed sentence, too, but I'll admit that I'm disappointed that the coach staff doesn't have the team executing fundamentals at a higher level.
04forheisman wrote:Our four wins are against 4 of the worst teams in all of college football.
Really? I didn't realize that we beat New Mexico State, Rice, Florida International or Florida Atlantic. Heck, I didn't even realize that they were on the schedule!
04forheisman wrote:We have yet to beat or come close to beating a decent football team.
I'm sure that Ohio University will be disappointed to hear this, especially since they are tied for the MAC East lead and already beat a team that's in the running for the title of a BCS conference.
04forheisman wrote:This team sucks(this hurts to say.....thought was a promising team).
Gee, a team that's tied for its division lead at the beginning of November sucks? Where does that leave schools that are out of the race by now? I mean, is there scale that has "sucks" at the midpoint?

And if it hurts to say that, I'd stop. No use inflicting pain on yourself.

True, the team has not fulfilled the promise many of use heaped upon them. But., as stated, they can still win the MAC East and play in the MACC game.
04forheisman wrote:People have defended this team after all of the other losses this season, GIVE IT UP!!!!
Give up? You mean, be a fairweather fan? No thanks.
04forheisman wrote:We are AWFUL.
Again, is there some sort of scale that has awful in the middle? What is below it? Because right now many teams in the MAC are below us, not to mention many teams in Div. 1-A.
04forheisman wrote:If we performed at work like this we would all be fired!!(Not such a bad idea COACH!!!)
Wow, I hope I never work for the company you work for. If I perform below expectations, I hope my boss treats me the way I treat my folks who underperform. Identify the weaknesses and establish a plan to address them. It's almost always worked for me.

I mean, I can't imagine have two stellar years and then getting fired if my performance slipped in the third year. Talk about a cut throat company.

We're going to go sentence by sentence on a post that was made right after the game? Everybody was frustrated about losing back-to-back games at home to WMU and Akron. People said things on this board just to vent and show their disappointment. Some people went overboard with their comments and some people are taking the comments way too seriously.

I will respond to the previous two individuals.

Yes, I have played and coached football at a very high level.

As a coach, I would never blame something in my control for a crappy season.(Brandon blaming recruiting)

I am a huge falcon fan, I wear my emotions on a sleeve and sometimes my statements may seem over the top. This does not give the staff at this university the right to mail in the season.

I like Gregg Brandon, I have talked to the man, I would have him over for dinner. Saying this, usually great head coaches are not this typ e of individual, they are tough, intense, and hard-nosed. I do not see this from this man.

As a former coach and player, the fundamentals and discipline of this team makes me sick, as all intelligent football fans should be.

I did not intentionally bash the players, they are here to be students first, and follow the lead of the staff. The only thing I see from some of the players is a lack of heart. This is shown in tackling, blocking, etc. These are phases of the game where coaching is not as prevelant.

I am sorry if I have use bad writing skills on an internet message board, or don't write weekly emails praising coaches for poor performances. I am a man that would expect to get my ass ripped if I did a poor job, and I don't see that with this football team. These are the kind of coaches that I played for and it worked. I can honestly say that we never came out flat and looking as hopeless as this football team in three of the defeats this season.

Enough about this topic, I will always love Falcon football, and I just want the best for the team. I feel that what we have in place currently is not the best for the team.

Thanks, at least somebody on here shares my views. I think it is OK to be critical when it is needed, and in the case of this team it is NEEDED.

I guess being a lifelong Browns fan, I saw something different with BG the last couple of years and I don't want them to become complacent and turn to crap like my favorite NFL franchise.

Go Falcons, I hope to god you can win these last 3 games, but whatever the outcome I think that in the offseason some major things need to be addressed in this program.

It is good to see there are fans that care. If we didn't, we wouldn't be here. It has been a very frustrating couple of weeks. How we respond is critical. The season is 11 games long, not 8.

Keep the faith....giving up never accomplishes anything.

I won't give up on this team....it ain't in my bood.
