Sad Day for MAC Sports....ESPN front page!!!
Maybe one reason some view it as a Toledo only issue is because none of the games in question happened to be MAC games. They were all OOC or Bowl games. So UT was the only MAC team involved in any game being scrutinized. It may be different if you would have seen more league games being reviewed.

Agreed. Bruce's mom jumped down my throat simply because I posted what a UT insider told me immediately after the MACC vs. Miami, that Bruce and Scooter would not play in the bowl game, that was basically all I said.h2oville rocket wrote:I'm guessing its pretty hard, as a parent, to view the stupidity and venom we all spew out on these things from time to time and not respond. I had a nice chat with a lady at one of my daughter's tennis matches a few years ago when she complained that my daughter was too aggressive (in tennis?). Hence, I understand if in fact Gradkowski's mom let loose on someone. I'm guessing Spart43, who I believe is a receiver's dad, can testify that its best for parents to avoid these things like the plague (at least other teams' boards, although if I was Anthony Turners dad, and I'm not, I would be pretty upset with MACMAN). Probably harder for moms to do-I think their skin is a bit thinner.

Strong words. Wonder why the NCAA couldn't produce a copy of the e-mail for them. Anyway, wonder if this gets the school off the hook.University of Toledo officials released a previously missing e-mail Thursday from the NCAA that appeared to clear the athletic program of any wrongdoing while concluding an investigation into unusual betting activity on a Toledo game last fall.

The link is old and my point in presenting it was as a response to Warthog's contention that none of the questionable games were MAC games. The Kent game was the first one to be brought to the NCAA's attention, I believe. Anyway, the stuff in the link is even more stale than the Gradkowski innuendos.

That's because the SMU "death penalty" was merely the capper to a five-year stretch in which two-thirds of the SWC was put on probation. I don't think we're there yet.Rightupinthere wrote:Don't think media outlet. Think college football fans. How many times do people paint a conference the same brush as what was used for one school? You have probably done this as well.Bleeding Orange wrote: I really don't understand this line of thinking. I have not seen one media outlet link any of this Toledo garbage to the MAC.
I remember the PR challenges of the Southwest Conference when SMU was busted.
