New Uniforms??
The "new" logo is NOT a cartoon type, but addition to the current one to make it look more realistic, if that makes any sense. The middles is partially filled in with color, as is the beak. As I noted previously, I believe this is just an option for retailers.
The colors are now defined with pantone colors and there is a bg orange, a bg brown and a tan. The logos are shown in different variations of each and a black and white, but NO mention of black being included as an "official" color.
I was really quite impressed with what I saw.

Does this mean the helmet is going to go unchanged? I know a while back we thought the falcon logo on the helmet was going to lose the white section.
Here's hoping! I love the current helmet. I just saw the new BGSU Football hooded sweatshirt on the "official webstore" and it is our traditional helmet with the white interior.

well, for now. like i said at the start of the thread, the new logo and things weren't ready in time for the football uniforms, but we should see it in place on all other falcon uniforms this year, save for perhaps hockey.dstubb wrote:Does this mean the helmet is going to go unchanged? I've seen the new logo and no it's not as cool as the one in Toledo but it'll do.
Ok, I'm kidding. I have to say that the new logo is pretty cool. I know we have the traditional falcon head logo and want to keep it but I believe that the new one is going to be even more appealing. I know that may sound strange and that I should promptly be kicked off the boards for uttering those words but that's my opinion.
We'll have the usual posters that are going to hate it no matter what because it's something new. But I must say that it's not like they took two seconds to draw this thing and said ah, this piece of sh!t will do and that's that. I personally believe that more merchandise will be sold with the new font and logo that we now have.

OOooooooookaaaaaaaaaaaaay.
Now, I'm a bit confused. Is the new logo to be used just for marketing apparel or is it going to replace the current falcon head on uniforms?
I'm getting a couple of stories here which is unusual for the internet.

Logo this and logo that....
The current Falcon head logo is still being used for all athletic teams and athletic department clothing. New jerseys and jackets, etc, will have the Falcon head with an outline around it to bring it out more. The "new" Falcon head logo will be for retail merchandise only, as far I was was told. While I do like the new Falcon head, I REALLY HATE the idea of losing the current one, which I truly believe will eventually be phased out if the new one becomes popular. I am trying to keep an open mind about it all....just hate to lose the current one, as I think it is one of the most unique in all of sports!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Darn right!! I'm old and I don't like anything new, but I don't mix plaids yet.Tricky_Falcon wrote:

I hate the new logo and I haven't even seen it yet.
