All year long we had to listen all the crap about how the MAC East was so weak.
I'm taking this as a V for BG.

Wow, those stands are EMPTY!

This was a sad display. I was really hoping Balls Tate would go undefeated this year.

Wow, I want Turner Gill as the next BG head coach. What a great guy, very easy to cheer for.

(Atleast in that tiny glimpse I just had of his post game speech)

I do realize Turner Gill wont be our hc

I just hope Buffalo is happy being the most fraudulent MAC Champions in history.

Had we been in this situation, I'm sure I would have taken it, but I know in the back of my mind, the truth would be we didn't deserve it.

Oh, and by the way, Gill is gone, that whole team is going to graduate (19 starters) and they will be back to suckitude next year. Enjoy it now Buffalo, because your one title caused by divine intervention will be your last for a long, long, LOOOOOOOONNNNNNNG time.

This may prove to be a pyrrhic victory for Buffalo. I can see a lot of serious interest in Turner Gill from other programs right away. If he doesn't leave this offseason, I'd give him one more year at UB before he cashes in somewhere else. He's a great coach, and perhaps the next Urban Meyer.

No doubt. There is little support in IN for Ball U. In Ohio there is OSU, but in Indiana there is Purdue, Indiana, Notre Dame, and a whole lot of folks like myself who come from out of state. It's hard to compete for fans here.

The MAC Championship Game should be at a campus site like it used to be, to ensure a raucous environment for television. The neutral site doesn't do much for our league.

What aggrivates me is that it seems as though every team that has won the MAC for the last five years has been a team that did just enough to get into the title game.

I really don't care if this makes our loss to Buffalo sting less. I'm sick and tired of having a mediocre team win the MAC. IMO, it is one of the things that contributes to the notion that the MAC is a mediocre conference.

Reading some of the posts, I was beginning to think that BGSU was playing against Buffalo tonight and not BSU. Yeah it looked like a TD, but they should have sucked it up and scoreed on 2nd and goal from a foot out.

It would have been nice to have an undefeated MAC team, but I was pulling for the underdog and division opponent all the way. It is in our best interests to have Turner Gill take a job outside the MAC ASAP. Hopefully tonight's result is a step in that direction.

If the measure is the empty stands shown on national TV, and I agree that it is, I believe that you are 100% correct.
There's no reason to play a MACC game in a mostly empty stadium. How do we gain from that?

Mediocre? They lost at Central by 2 and lost to Western in OT at home. Sure they played a bunch of close games, but they won them and tonight they took advantage of Ball State's mistakes and won the game going away.

There is still no excuse for us to lose to them given the 20 point fourth quarter lead, but they were better than mediocre this year.

You weren't here in 2000, were you?

(Or, I suppose some would argue, 1982).

Don't forget: It was brutally cold tonight.

I'm not sure going back to campus sites is as obvious a decision for the MAC as it is for Conference USA.

Fair enough, but I froze my grapes off in a packed Doyt in 2003. The fans sure turned out on a cold evening for that game. It all goes back to the fickle nature of MAC fans/students. I think people will come out for a title game no matter what. A Friday night game is tough, especially when you have a couple of the teams furthest from Detroit making this year's game.

If BG had been playing CMU tonight, it would've been a vastly different story attendance-wise, but I still think a campus site is the best option overall.

I don't mind the neutal site so much (Marshall playing in all those home games was not right either); but what I think is silly is that one of the teams "makes it to Detroit" to be rewarded by.... making a return to Detroit.

This is not a knock on Detroit, Ford Field, or the Motor City Bowl which I have respect for.
