Well, that'll do just nicely.

I find it rather interesting that Nicely is listed as either the #18 or #19 ranked pro-style qb in the nation and Coach CLAW has uses elements of the pro-style offense in his schemes. He might actually fit our future scheme anyway if we're not going to be the same style spread as what GB ran here which honestly was starting to stink.

I still think he would have been a very good QB. Remember Josh Harris as a freshman? How does my "child-like" loyalty to Brandon come into play when I was "screaming" for Barnes to play QB?

It seems like there's an inordinate amount of "I heard" and "according to my sources" on the site lately. I feel so in the know to be amongst such privileged, yet anonymous insiders.

I guess while Ryan Autullo gets laid off, a bunch of message board posters are taking over for him. It's getting a little ridiculous actually, not just in this topic, but others as well

Just out of curiousity, if Nicely was a pro-style quarterback, why would he have wanted to come here for Brandon anyway? It seems like he would fit in better with Clawson's offense anyway.

My thoughts exactly. With a supposed 4.9 40 time, Nicely doesn't exactly scream spread QB with our offense being run best with a good runner.

Cowboyjoe, do not listen to moneymaker, although I do agree Barnes would not have been a good QB, at the start of the season moneymaker said that Marques Parks sucks and wouldnt start and in my opinion he turned out to be one of our more reliable receivers this year. Not a star but definately didn't suck if you ask me.

Not that i disagree at all with the whole "speed thing" but what is/was Sheehan's 40 time now/at the combines? He seems like a pretty good athlete, but i wouldn't guess much faster than Nicely's posted 4.9.

I'll spare you all my whole 40 yard time spiel but suffice it to say 4.9 is pretty quick. A REAL 4.9 that is. So is meanngless to look at that stuff unless you know if its a joke football 4.9 (probably) or an actual 40 yard dash timed in 4.9.

Anything under 5 seconds and you can move pretty well. Also, you don't have to be a great runner to run the spread, you just have to know the offense. Is Graham Harrell a runner? Was Chris Leak a runner? Not really but both knew the offense extremely well.

you forget one minor detail, josh harris could actually throw and had a really good arm, freddie has no arm. freddie is where he should have been the whole time at wr. im convinced if freddie would have played wr in high school we would have had no shot to get him and he would have gone somewhere bigger.

I thought I heard he was getting looks from Cinci. And Clyde was upset in the first round weren't they?

Gillett is a stud though, if he went to BG I'd be pumped.
