good points...the gmac has traditionally been a high scoring game and i think they really want o-ffense in mobile. didn't marshall beat ecu something like 65-63 a couple years ago? and, last year miami beat louisville in another high scoring game, 49-28.BelieveNBG wrote:The GMAC bowl historically picks first and they always try to pick the "MOST EXCITING" team in the MAC. They picked Miami early last year, because they were the most exciting team. Big Ben proved that twice to our dismay. Prior years, GMAC picked Marshall because they were the best the MAC had to offer those years (sorry, but it's true - Byron Leftwich). This year they stated they would chose between NIU, UT, and BG and it could be either team because we were all 8-3. In the end, they picked BG. "Why BG?", some may say.
See the trend. They pick early and they pick the BEST.
GO BG!!!

wahoo, Marshall isn't considered the dumbest on the lot for once! Thanks Toledo for making us look good in the eyes of Falcon Fans!Flipper wrote:Is it me, or are the UT trolls the dumbest of the lot? On a serious note, good luck in the GMAC! It is well-deserved!
Casual Observer (whoever that is --- a ut enthsiast that's for sure) made the observation that Brandon was living off of Meyer's recruits, and that when they graduate, BG would be back to mediocrity land. I've heard that comment before. ---- Does anybody out there know how the BG recruiting classes have faired under Brandon compared to Toledo's recruiting classes. Seems to me (if I remember correctly) that BG's classes have been near the top for the past several years with Toledo near the top as well, but below Bowling Green.

Fans of Toledo have a very long and storied history to be proud of. Toledo fans also have a program that is consistently good over years to root for. That is the difference between Toledo and BG football programs.
A football program that has had numerous run-ins with the law and fans that don't acknowledge when the National Anthem is being played...yep that is something to be REALLY proud of!

If you knew anything at all about college athletics, you would know that your recruiting class is not judged until they graduate. It does not matter what kind of accolades that you have in high school. What makes a great recruiting class is if they win. So, to answer your question, we do not know how good the recruits are until they have gone through the system. As of right now, the Toledo recruits from Pinkel's era are beating Meyer's and Brandon's recruits.
To the guy talking about run-in's with the law, you need to look a little deeper at your own program. It was not but about a month ago where a BG football player was convicted for telling a BG police officer "..I am going to shoot you."
