I knew the night Ohio beat Temple a few weeks ago they locked up the East. What made it worse was watching what happened in this game against them tonight with so many blown chances, coming down to a last-second loss by a single point, and watching Ohio win for the third consecutive time on our home field. It's incredible how these two programs have reversed roles in recent years. Ohio used to be a pushover and we were solid. Now they are one of the better teams in the league and we are just awful. I think we'd find a way to lose to Akron if we had played them this year - no doubt on the final play by a point or two.

That is very impressive when you consider how bad that program once was not long ago, and it's something BG hasn't had a chance to do even once while even teams like Akron and Buffalo have (along with Miami). I don't see how BG is going to beat Ohio and the Bobcats have owned Miami (OU has won 5 in a row over them) and they already own the head- to-head win over Temple.
Brings back into focus what the bottom line is. Bowl games and rankings don't mean squat without a title or two. BG can't even get to the darned game. At least Temple isn't going.
Agreed. Since the MACC has been moved to Detroit, we have seen MAC East teams like Akron, Buffalo and Miami go there and win it, and while Ohio hasn't yet, they are likely going for the third time in just six years.

It's hard for me to believe that we are now coming up on 20 years since BG won the MAC!!! That is crazy to me. We've seen fat punters (CMU), Big Ben (Miami) and blown leads (27-7 in the 4th quarter to Buffalo) all right on our backyard along the way though. ](*,)
Yup. I was a freshman in fall 1992. This years freshmen weren't even born.

I stepped foot on campus as a freshman in 1993 after BG had just came off back-to-back MAC Championships in 1991 and 1992. We haven't won one since......that is now coming up on 20 years ago. Incredible.

So it's your fault!! Just kidding...LOL. 20 years is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too long to be waiting at BG for a title.

Agreed...way, way, way too long. I've witnessed things such as the Fat Punter, Big Ben and the Buffalo Debacle that has derailed us en route to a MAC Championship while seeing teams like Akron win one on a bomb at the end of the game, or Buffalo pulling an upset, or a one-win Miami team the previous year make a run and win it the next. I think back to the Top-25 teams we have had and the teams that racked up wins over BCS teams and wonder how did we not win the MAC with any of them?
GO BG!!!
