Don't be an ass...CJ Pickrom isn't the first BGSU athlete accused of assault and newsflash...he isn't the first to be accused of assault involving a woman. Unless you have information indicating he was running around Texas punching girls before he got here.. I don't think you can blame the coaches because someone did something stupid while drinking...again..not a first here.

It's hardly knee jerk to expect the local media to cover it. You know 24 hours later it be in print or acknowledged. But, it's not Gregg Brandon coaching and BG has cheerleaders for beat writers.

Let me get this straight: According to Guest44, the Sentinel-Tribune is engaged in a conspiracy with other local media to cover up the fact that a football player is accused of assaulting a woman at a local bar, despite the fact that we wouldn't even know about the alleged assault had the Sentinel-Tribune not published a story about this very allegation.

Also, according to Guest44, our football team's coaching staff is able to divine with some precision which high school football players are likely to allegedly assault a woman at a local bar months or even years into the future. And yet, despite the fact that our coaches have this marvelous superpower, they abuse it by intentionally awarding football scholarships to the very young men who are likely to assault women, then turn around and suspend such players from the team when they allegedly act as coaches predicted.

Do I have it about right?

No our local media Sentinel has a 20 something year old who basically won't say a bad word about BGSU athletics. Just too young and too close to be objective or critical. Therefore, no accountability.

As far as the Blade goes BG has the one writer who avoids all unfavorable stories like the plague. Therefore, no accountability. All the other writers on the sports staff would have been all over this. It's a disservice to you the BGSU fans.

As far as the football staff goes, the record speaks for itself. They always say the more the football team (coaches) find the blotter, the more the wins follow. So I guess that is something to look forward to.

All of this doesn’t matter. If CJ Pickrom is guilty or not guilty, all he has to do is go ahead of the university board or the judge and just say the following words: “I plead Joe Mixon”. He does that, he keeps his status as a member of the university and starts next year for the football team. I’d even bring in a few character witnesses like Jinks, the 2 football coaches that assaulted someone themselves and maybe even fly in Bob Stoops and Brent Musburger. I’m sure they would give him glowing character references that he’s such a great guy!

You know what’s sad? Is we have sat and argued about this for 2 days now, but not one person, including myself, has condemned this football player for hitting a woman. If this was a Toledo player hitting a woman we’d be all over it condemning it and making our jokes, but since it’s a BG player it’s like it never happened. Where’s Falcon Fanatic? She went off on me because I was defending Jans actions of patting a woman on the butt, yet this dude cold cocks a girl and there’s no post from her? Let’s do what BGSU and the media is doing. Let’s not talk about it and cover it up as best as possible. The less information that gets out the better. And the reason the story was released in the first place is because BGSU wanted it released to get ahead of and control the story. That girls tweet was going to get out to the public at some point.

Flipper you would defend water not being wet at this point. The off season has just begun. I'm confident we will meet again this spring. Dysfunction has a way of creating reasons to come back.

Generally speaking, she usually hangs out in the hockey forum and only checks this one occasionally. No, she would not defend or condone the actions of this football player. I can guarantee that as fact.

There is absolutely, positively no reason for a man to punch a woman. If he did this, he pays the price. There is no room in our program or university for any athlete that assaults another individual.

Per the Blade---BG football coach Mike Jinks issued a statement which read, "We are aware of an incident involving CJ Pickrom. He has been indefinitely suspended from the team and will take part in the University's student code of conduct process. We do not, and will not, condone this type of behavior in our program."

I love that last line....I firmly believe Coach Jinks is a man of his word. There is enough of that sheet in college athletics as it is.

Otherwise..just walk away. If you can't walk away..at the very worst, pie face them and slew foot them beore stpping over them to safety.

Not saying it's the case here...it doesn't sound like it was...but unfortunately in today's fucked up culture, some women are bound and determined to behave like men and they will start throwing punches...I know that tradition says don't hit them and I typically agree, but there's has to be a point where enough is enough and it's ok to retaliate...maybe not hit them, but physically move them away.
