I don't understand President Roger's statement.... Was he disappointed in the performance of the revenue earning teams? Did Moose's mismanagement of the baseball donation border on financial malfeasance?
If those were factors, I imagine President Rogers would have cited them more specifically. He did not.
The key phrase in that statement to me is "the need to increase and diversify resources." Rogers seems to be saying there that the revenue side of the department needs to improve. And, by "diversify," I think he's saying we need an athletic director who can get donors to step up more.
(Improved ticket sales could also help, of course.)
On the baseball donation: If Rogers really blamed Moosbrugger for that situation, it seems to me he would have said something about it. But he didn't. He actually offered some praise for Moosbrugger's overall handling of baseball.
My sense is the real screw up probably happened years earlier, when (I imagine) the athletic department under Chris Kingston failed to properly document the terms of the Haas gift.

I got the sense the move was made by the Board and not Rogers exclusively.
Well, that's interesting.
