Your welcome, but you know this prompted me to alter my avatar once again. What do you think? The fighting crayfish with fluorescent dye just wasn't doing for me.

Beckman quote in the Sentinel

Post by Warthog »

Gotta say I was a little miffed by this one, but here is a direct quote from Beckman in Saturday's Sentinel: "I got an opportunity to coach at the dream place of any kid raised in Ohio."

While he may feel that way, he was already coaching at a school in Ohio. I take that as a slap in the face. If he was coaching in IN, MI, someother state, well then his quote is fine. But he just dissed us with what he said. If that is the way he feels, well, get the **** out then.

Ouch. The painful, stinging burn of the truth. Nobody likes it, never feels good.

Truth? Perhaps.

But said with the complete arrogance and lack of class I would expect from someone associated with that program. I can think of at least a dozen ways the same thing could have been said much better.

Man...that guy turned out to be a real dick.

I wonder if the lack of an announcement concerning the promotion of coach Bowers means we're taking a little look see at an outside hire.

I'd have to think so, especially with the Stud-related announcement the other day. You'd have to believe that the powers that be have known for at least a little while that this was coming, and if they had someone in mind to elevate from within, they would have done so with the other announcement(s). Then again, maybe they're just seeing if there's any interest now that its been announced and Bowers is still in line.

Or, maybe we're waiting to see who the next apple to fall from the Colorado scandal tree is and hire them, just to piss the women's movement off again.

I grew up in Ohio and no dream of mine has ever involved OSU.

I've had plenty of dreams that have involved OSU. Most of them involve public urination or mushroom clouds, for some reason....

Wow, the walk gets longer as the pier gets shorter. It's amazing how fast we have turned on this guy. Good for him for getting a crack at a job he has apparently wanted. We will get along just fine without him. I just hope his replacement does not consider this his dream job. I would hate to have BGSU vilified by another school. But I am sure no one on this site knows anything about that

My OSU dream is students rioting on High Street, buring cars and trashing their own campus after BG beats them in football. They already do this after victories.
