I should have known that the Gregg Brandon subject was probally tiring by now. Next time when I make a topic, I will try to make one that will be constructive.

Oh, don't worry. I'm guessing that by the time next season rolls around, we'll see about 3,485 more threads about Brandon.

We may see that by the time the Spring Game rolls around...

I'm sure some of the eternal pessimists around here would say that we haven't won a Spring Game yet!
We would have received a bowl bid if we had won last year's spring game. Damn Brandon!
Parks was signed in January of 2003. He took his last final on a Friday and enrolled at BG on a Monday...that makes him Gregg Brandon's first recruit
He committed to Urban before he left for Utah and was coming to BG regardless of who took the head coaching job here. In reality, he was an Urban recruit.
If Parks was coming here regardless of who was coaching, how does that make him a Meyer recruit? Brandon was the coach when he signed his LOI, he's Brandon's recruit...

We were even put in the top 25 at the beggining of the season in the Sports Illustrated poll and all we could accomplish is a 6-5? I am just being all negative here is because I was just very frustrated with the team this year.
I hear ya loud and clear. I won't be over this season completely until spring ball rolls around. It was an extremely disappointing season...and losing the way we did to our arch rival just made it worse. I thought at the beginning of the season BG would go 9-2, 7-1 MAC and win the title. Of course nobody thought guys like Omar, PJ, Teddy and the likes would get hurt. Not having a home game until 10/1 certainly didn't help. Every year teams underachieve as well as overachieve. Unfortunately for us, BG underachieved this season.
Ya sound like a great BG fan....and the more BG fans the better! Nothing wrong with having the orange and brown passion.
Come out to the spring game in 2006 and we'll be tailgating. Always looking to add more folks to the TG group.
GO FALCONS!

Yes, I said that for a couple of reasons, one of them being selfish. This is not smack, so don't get your feathers ruffled, but it is nice to see your team win against his after he makes all those cocky statements in the newspaper and on the news about the Rockets. With that said, I think that it would be beneficial to BG's recruiting if he had a longer contract and there were less discussions among the fans about him leaving. Opposing coaches know how much time he has remaining on his contract and can and probably do use that against him in recruiting. Recruits have the same access to this website as you all do so many of them probably know what is being said. Most recruits probably don't want to commit to someone if they think he's only going to be around for another year or so. So, in a sense, most of this talk could be making the man's job even tougher. Not that I care, but I thought it is worth pointing out.
I have a feeling that Joplin will really be gone at the end of this year. Because of what I just talked about, I worry about these same things with this year's recruiting class.
UT is listed in the 2004 edition of The Unofficial, Unbiased Guide to the 328 Most Interesting Colleges by Trent Anderson and Seppy Basili as one of the U.S. schools with the “Most Beautiful Urban Campus.”
I think that's part of the danger with any succesful mid major program. How long is Brookhart going to stay in Akron? If Cubit and Kelly continue to build WMU and CMU, how long before the whispers start about them?
The flip side to that is recruits might wonder about a coach who gets entrenched at a mid major. Why isn't he being mentioned elsewhere?
I think the answer lies in how you structure the sale to the kid and his parents. This isn't a religious cult, it's college football. The man in charge isn't the focal point. Educational opportunities, tradition and facilities (among other things) are.
