Oh gosh, I hope not!! There is no way I'll be able to cheer for a Florida team.

Hold that thought Vince Young just won a National Championship. He may come out and may just be the first or second pick.

With a performance like that tonight to cap his career so far, he might have sealed up the #1 pick....if he wants it.

I don't look at the draft information or scouting reports much, but I highly doubt that the Texans would take VY over Bush. They already have David Carr and his numbers aren't his fault playing behind that high school offensive line of theirs.

Young will stay if he wants the heisman next year. I'd love to see the looks on all the buckeye fans when their beloved Troy Smith, and/or Teddy Ginn gets their heisman dreams shattered. Which of course will happen after our falcons crush their national championship hopes....

Houston recently locked up Domanick Davis to a $20+ million contract. He's a good RB, not a superstar, but pretty darn good. I could definitely see them sticking with Davis and adding Young. Also of note is that Carr is due an $8 million roster bonus or he becomes a FA. Cleveland made the mistake a few years ago of giving Tim Couch that roster bonus because they thought he'd been held back by the team around him...it crippled the cap for another couple years. Giving Carr that sort of money with a player like Young on the board would be a colossal mistake.

Story on VY leaning towards staying. The article gives a short but decent thought on this year's top-10 draft composition.

Agreed that if Young stays, Omar should definitely go. He doesn't want to be dealing with the senior class next year if it includes Quinn and Young.

Young is nuts if he stays. He'll never be a hotter commodity than he is right now. Everybody loves him. Waiting a year will only subject him to the inevitiable backlash that occurs when someone rockets to stardom. Everyone sees his skills and potential now. Why give the people who want to look for your flaws a year to find them?

He's like a hot stock. Right now he's Yahoo in 1999. Why wait a year to be Yahoo in 2001?

I'll second that.

Taking Reggie Bush could never be seen as being a colassal mistake.

I didn't say that. I said giving Carr his roster bonus, which would make him one of the highest paid QBs in the NFL, with a talent like Young on the board would be a colossal mistake. They've got an above average RB right now, that's getting paid a good salary. They've got a chance to cut ties with Carr, no harm no foul, and pick a great QB prospect. Otherwise they make Carr one of the highest paid players in the league, still have the good RB with a good salary, and also have one of the highest paid RBs in the league in Bush.

The best thing for their team, in actuality, would be to renegotiate Carr's deal, trade down a couple notches, and grab Ferguson because he's the player they need the most.

That wouldn't surprise me one bit.

The only problem I really see with that scenario is re-working Carr's deal. I don't know if he'd be up for it. He might try to be stubborn and work himself into a FA. Of course the club always has the roster bonus, but I don't see how you can give Carr that sort of money.

As I said the Browns were in the same situation a few years ago with Couch. He had a $7-8 million roster bonus that was due or he became a FA. At the time it still looked like he was a serviceable QB but had no talent around him. They gave him the bonus and he was then an uncuttable (one of the highest paid) QB for the next 2 years.

Also don't forget that they're bringing in a whole new front office & coaching staff.

If they cannot get Carr to renegotiate that deal, which he very well might not, they cannot just give him that bonus; they have to let him walk. If they let him walk I could definitely seeing them taking a QB. Boy I'd hate to be the Houston brass if passed over Vince Young for Leinart...Local boy and all...
