"An issue."Dayons_Den wrote:From bgsufalcons.comSEBO CENTER UPDATE
Testing and inspection to ensure that construction is being done in accord with building design specifications is important to the success of all building projects, including the Sebo Center project. During the testing/inspection process, engineers uncovered an issue with the masonry construction that will require the masonry along the north, south and west walls of the building to be redone as well as the elevator/stairwell tower. The general contractor has taken appropriate steps to address the problem and all masonry will be replaced immediately. The work is expected to take approximately two to four weeks.
The building remains scheduled for completion in spring of 2007.
Sounds like a nice way of saying "someone screwed up."

Wow. This sure doesn't sound good. I've been wondering why I haven't seen very much activity going over than a good while. If they have replace stuff and do other things over then we're probably looking at a summer '07 completion date at the very soonest. Who the heck do they got doing the work over there anyway?Tricky_Falcon wrote:I hear a few things were knocked down and will have to be re-built including the elevator shaft which wasn't built to standard. Sounds like a lot of bad planning and execution.

Well see, everything they used was too small so now they have to replace it. Why are you so pessimistic about things you shouldn't be worrying about?falconboy wrote:Wow. This sure doesn't sound good. On another note, I actually heard they used the wrong steel to hold everything up. Could be wrong but I figured I'd throw that idea into this lovely discussion.

Agreed. I believe someone [contractor] is going to have to eat the reconstruction.Schadenfreude wrote:"An issue."Dayons_Den wrote:From bgsufalcons.comSEBO CENTER UPDATE
