I'm so discouraged and depressed and resigned that I have a hard time working up any anger. The crowds will suck this year, and I highly doubt you will see those future games come about (the future isn't what it used to be). I'd like to think the team will improve, but I doubt it. I will renew my season tickets, but I could just as easily buy General Admission and sit in the same place I did.

This after sitting through the the men's basketball season.

This is no way to run a railroad. The FIU excuse is weak.

Journey--I understand giving Christopher a honeymoon. But eventually, he's going to have to actually do something right.

Like a first year AD is actually going to stand up to the long-time commissioner of the MAC and say no we will not play Temple again.
No one is saying he should have done that because Temple is in our division - we have to play them. Having to play Temple on the DAY OF THE SEBO CELEBRATION is the cherry on top of a frustrating sundae.

It doesn't matter if he's in his 1st year or 20th year, he was completely out of line in agreeing to drop Boise, given 1) it would have been the best team ever to visit the Doyt and 2) our inherent attendance issues. He has a fiduciary responsibility to look after the interests of BGSU first; the MAC's a distant second.

It's excuse after excuse. For several years, we were pissed at Marshall, or FIU or can't even remember how many other schools they told us backed out of 1 and 1's or even 2 for 1's. At some point, we have to start to question the fact that maybe's it's us. Maybe it's BG's fault for some of these continued miscues.

We are just like the parent who can't believe little Johnny could do such a thing and it must have been someone elses fault. Sooner or later after so many run-ins with the law, that parent has to start to think that maybe's it's Johnny and not the law.
Fair enough. I would like to see our contract for home and home series. I would like to think there is a clause that defines a fine for pulling out before the contract has been fulfilled for any reason except dropping the sport. If it not in there then it should be. We need to make some money on ESPN and the MAC bending us over.

Okay, sorry I'm late to the party. Lots to do to catch up at work.

Two things: The away schedule is quite nice.

The home schedule cancels out the goodness of the away schedule by leaps and bounds. UT on a Friday after Bird Day? There is ZERO logic there. Does Chryst WANT BG to miss their attendence min? I'm beginning to think he does.

We got the high hard one, folks. BG is an Irish hooker doling out hand jobs for $20 bucks. Grrrrreeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaat.

I quote a line from a popular 80's movie: "There's a certain amount of comfort in being completely screwed."

the 2:30 thing bugs me because frankly students don't want to go to games that early. ALSO, osu games tend to be daytime and ALOT of people on campus won't go to stay home and watch osu instead. sorry. thats how it goes. PLUS, there's nothing i hate worse then tailgating all afternoon, going to the game where u start to sober up then going home after the game because its still early...where u start to develop a hangover before the post game parties. i'm not asking for 9 oclock start times...how bout 6? or 5?

oh well, i wont be able to go anyway because i, like many students, are NOT GOING TO BE IN TOWN ON THAT FRIDAY. i'll be in northern michigan.

ya know...i thought they had that figured out when they pushed the games up a few years back. this is insane, and frankly...im getting fed up.

"If you folks are trying to kill the program, you're off to a great start"

That's the openning line to my email to our AD...and JD. JD's been a good guy...he actually takes the time to answer you if you have a question.

Three great road games are meanigless if you play 15 bushels of suck at home.

Think of the long term implications....UT can point to our schedule and say "w e play more home games because our university supports the program"

The national media will look at our schedule and say "they dropped Boise State to play Western Kentucky". Well they will if they actually still give a crap about us...

Yep...we're taking all the necessary steps to ensure a bleak future: probable ass whoopins on the road and home games that only the parents of the pl;ayers will turn out for.

Here's our new marketing slogan...."BGSU athletics...we're not 1AA yet, but give us time"

oh forgot...another problem with the 2:30 toledo...my original problem.

BG toledo is one of our biggest games. seems to me thats why its been PRIME TIME for the last....well as long as i can remember... instead lets put it in a slot where it'll be on espnu and nobody will see it...since u generally need to go to a bar to see espnu games and EVEN I am rarely at bars at 2:30.

LOOK OUT 1AA here comes the FALCONS! and there goes me... (ok, im mad but im getting fed up...did i mention that?)

My biggest complaint about the schedule is also the Toledo game. Seeing as how that's our BIGGEST game of the season, it's ridiculous to be putting it on the Friday right after Turkey day and not even have it on a tv station that everyone has the chance of getting. That is definately the one game that pisses me off the most. :smt076 What's the point of moving it to the middle of a break without even having it on abc/nbc/fox/espn (yeah, I know it's on ESPNU...) my point is that we definately got reamed on that decision

MACMAN wrote:The Administration is retarded. Toledo our bigest home has been for years when the students are blowing out of town.
move that game up!!!! Already it should be our second or third game and definitely not a game when no students are in town and the doyt fills with rocket fans!!!! please fix this...but then again we have wood-lane scheduling our games...

actually we could be better off if we just played all away games at bigger schools...at least that way we would not have to play some of the crap games we do know...and wtf is d1 expanding for anyway...untill there is a real playoff system that is inclusive d1a should be the last thing any school should want.

MACMAN,
Don't know what the heck you were drinking prior to sending this post, but can you PLEASE cut down on the "typos"...or at least re-read before you send? What the heck does "wood-lane scheduling" mean?

Maybe the strategy is to get people to quit caring, thereby reducing the number of complaints in the long-run....

If I'm not mistaken, Wood-lane is/was a school for mentally disabled individuals. I think it was a poor attempt to say the schedulins is done by a bunch of "retards"

We could be Ball State... also with only five home games (in a newly refurbished stadium), they have WKU for homecoming, too, and are apparently playing their conference slate by the "Noah Method", two-by-two...

Shortage of home games aside, I don't think much of the frustration around here is the schedule itself, it's the schedule hints we were presented throughout the process (from some seemingly solid sources, including Boise State's official site) that irks me. (Though losing the Boise State home game is a tough pill to swallow.)

angry letter away. not that it'll do much

losing boise sucks, but the worst to me is a schedule that IN NO WAY contributes to attendance. i promise you right now this bg toldeo game will be the lowest attended in a long time

I too will not buy season tickets this year. I even e-mailed GC several weeks ago and told him - no boise- no season tickets. Guess he did not care so I will - maybe catch a couple games but thats it. He will get exactly what everyone here is saying - poor figures- duh! Personally, I would be opening the AD resume file and looking for options.
