wow field turf for our whole 5 game home stand...whew...that is money well spent...
field turf sucks, domes suck. Football is played out side in all weather on grass..that may or may not turn to mud!

i read also that marketing dept has changed the schools colors to hot pink, yellow and safety green

1. The turf will be good for more than one year

2. Getting turf also gives us the ability to host other events like high school football games that draw potential students, student-athletes and their families to the campus.

Money well spent indeed.

Once we got the fake grass, the stadium will then be available for use as a multi-purpose facility. Imagine the kind of money you could pull in to have high school tournament action for many different sports there.

Or possibly Spring/Summer graduation?

Very true. First, the turf should be good for at least 10 years. Second, you can get high school games there. UT has games from Central, St Francis, and St John's all the time. Plus there is the preseason Old News Boys games, the City League Hall of Fame game, and several youth leagues rent out the Glass Bowl at different times in the season. You can definitely make some dough on these events.

I doubt if they will change how they do the graduations. Having the four ceremonies in the spring is much preferred over the massive one they used to do. We sat out in blowing sleet in the last spring graduation that was at the stadium and have done it inside ever since!! The summer one is done out on the lawn in front of University Hall and also seems to work well. Again, doubt if they will change the venues back to the stadiium.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I know when my wife graduated from BG in '96 it was miserable. 40 degrees with sleet & rain. She's still pissed I didn't get any pictures, but the lens was iced over!

My mom took plenty of pictures that day... and was pissed that I wore a sweatshirt and jeans under my gown. :D

Great minds think alike. I wore jeans and a sweatshirt as well. Hid the flask a little better and I don't like suits or ties anyway. LOL

Summer, late-early 80's, in front of University Hall, on naturally sown, grown, and manicured turf, which felt reassuringly natural underfoot. Field turf would have melted.

Spring 2002 was in Anderson. No clue what the weather was. Memories are very foggy of that entire day. Still don't know where I woke up the next day.
