Why do we have so many UGLY losses? This is one of them. The bowl game to Tulsa last year is one. The loss at Temple a few years ago is another. The Mud Bowl game against winless Miami is one too!

Didn't Buffalo get their first 1-A win against us?


That being said, I'll be back for the final 3 games this season. Just not quite as enthusiastic. I have NOT been one of the people calling for Gregg Brandon's head, however I might have to rethink that idea!

I'm pretty sure Miami had a win already that day.

I agree with this. I'm heartbroken by what I saw, but I don't understand why it happened. There is no simple explanation.

I wonder if the offensive play calling has gotten too conservative. Or is Sheehan unable or unwilling to throw deep?

Sheehan went 27 of 34 for almost 300 yards. So it isn't like he had a bad game. Yet the Falcons only scored 17 points? Neither team had that many possessions -- the game went very quickly, and that was part of it.

I dunno.

Any time you lose to Eastern Michigan, its tragic.

Believe it or not, the Eastern Michigan Eagles had never beaten us in football. Last win for EMU was 1989. They were Hurons then; Moe Ankney was head coach.

None of us could see this coming. It hurts.

And I can't explain it. There is no one thing that went wrong. A lot of little things seemed to pile up.

Honestly, I think this game was, in large part, a fluke. Fundamentally, I think the Falcons have a good team. I think they are still capable of winning the East.

But it's much harder now, obviously.

Well, we'll see what kind of character this team has now. Either buck up and start playing like the team I saw on opening day in Pittsburgh or else....

There is way too much talent on this team not to win the East. I think it was a simple case of one team coming off a big win and being overconfident while the other team was coming off a bad home loss with nothing to lose. We let them hang around the whole game and it bit us in the ass in the end.
