Looking forward to Kansas State
Re: Looking forward to Kansas State
When coaches come and go at an alarming rate, probability of getting a "winner" each time is improvable. Jinks was a lemon. He was unable to recruit, win, and then leave for a higher paying job. Now, we are hoping, in 3-4 years , this staff gets it done, moves on and the process starts over. Ho-hum.

Yes...we are shorthanded this year. I'm not sure that's an entirely bad thing. We were sunk this year no matter what. We are short 10-15 scholarship players. I look at that as an opportunity for the competent coach to find 10-15 more guys than he might have. That's a positive!!
I think you might find a number of the dozens of walk on's he recruited into program earning scholarships. Some of those guys were interior linemen on both sides of the ball. Give them a year or two under coach Tolbert...who knows what you'll have

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Unfortunately, you are short 15 NOW, and you will lose another 15-20? Or more to graduation and transfers.....and you can only scholarship 25 max. You can’t catch up unless the NCAA increases that number to 35, which is on the table, I read.

It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

I read the MAC is looking at 35 one year but 50 over two. 35 seems like an insanely high number given the 85 max and the five year window. In a vacuum ( which nature abhors) you could have 175 guys on scholarship for 85 spots? Going with 25 a year in a five year window gives you a slightly higher than 50% margin for error. Given the usual stats..that seems about right to me. Now...that could easily changed with a liberalized transfer process. Then you might need the ability to go over 25 a season
Then again..math was never my strong suit

Especially since it seems like every kid who transferred to a P5 school was given the green light to play THIS season. I am so pissed about that. F*#K the NCAA...mbenecke wrote:Loeffler said after the game that Matt McDonald had won the starting QB job in camp, so for him to lose his waiver appeal is especially disappointing.
