I'm hoping for a winning season next year. But the situation we're in right now reminds me of the 2004 season. Our Falcons traveled to Oklahoma to play the defending national champions with a new quarterback in the pocket. Sure we didn't win, but we put up one heck of a fight. Wisconsin may not be national champions, but they are still a good team. Keep in mind that we'll be playing in Cleveland, so in theory that should help us. Additionally, playing Boise St. at home should help. Take them away from the Smurf Turf and make them play in white and they are not as lethal.
I'm not going to jump to too many predictions, but I have to say that there is something outside of both the players and coaches....enter the weather. I was at the Miami game and saw how the weatehr impacted that game. I would have never predicted in a million years we would annihilate them like we did (3 safeties and a total yards being a negative number...makes me smile) and I think mother nature played a part in that.
Even if we don't win all the games, we are playing big name schools, and I would rather lose to OSU and Wisconsin (worst case scenarios...I'm thinking positively that we stand a chance) then play a bunch of smaller schools and win. BG's finally getting some respect which is huge for our program.
How many Wins next year since Omar's gone?

well like i said, I wasnt there, Thats just what I had heard from some people who were at the game.1987alum wrote:You're right. That's reasonable. Conservative, but reasonable for the reasons you outlined.tekekini wrote:I'm just saying I think 5 wins is a reasonable prediction 1 week from the end of the college bowl game season.
As Flipper pointed out, not so. Ohio came out flat, despite the fact that they recovered a fumble on the opening kickoff and never looked in sync. Their offense was painful to watch and we were just a play or two away from blowing the game wide open.tekekini wrote:I wasnt at the OU game but from what I understand OU should have slaughtered us. We had a lot of mistakes and OU failed to capitalize. They prolly could have easily beaten us.
