Spread things out and get the ball to an athlete in space. It's not rocket science
Two of the best athletes didn't make the trip due to covid protocols.
Having Tyrone Broden out there would be nice. Not sure how much it would help, but it appears he’s missing tonight - and I think he was our leading receiver last year?
He and Simms didn't make the trip.

Good stop by the defense with the help of the penalty.

A Karl Brooks sack (which came after more than 5 seconds, because of the great coverage we had on the play) forced a Tennessee punt from midfield. Defense looked a little better on that drive.

Not sure why we’re fair catching a punt at the 6. I understand punters these days have a real talent of getting the right bounce and pinning you deep, but I’d plant my heels at the 10 and force them to make a great play instead of giving it to them and forcing the struggling offense to go 94 yards.

Special teams, specifically the return team, has me scratching my head so far.

First quarter went as expected. I think the defense looks fundamentally better than last year. Making tackles in space is good to see.

Offensive line is completely outsized and outclassed, so there just isn’t going to be much BG’s offense can do against UT. I actually think defense looks much better. Tennessee is way stronger than the D-Line but coverage and tackling are improved (so far). If we keep them under 50 and score more than 0 I’ll call this a win and reassess after next week.

Nice to see some moving pockets to find space. Now let's see if they can show the creativity to build off that threat.

I really hate all the screens we’re throwing, but I understand it’s because the offensive line won’t hold for long.

Also hate running to the edge against a team with more speed, but again… we aren’t getting a push up front.

There's some skill and speed. It's not all doom and gloom.

Just had to look up who Jamal Johnson was because I haven’t heard that name yet, but wow what an athletic move!

Ha! Loeffler looking like a madman. If we turn things around, I’m really going to like this guy.

BG hits a field goal from about 40 yards out and it’s 14-3.

McDonald is something like 10/15 for 82 yards. Not bad.
