that was a great game! Sure the O's sucked on both sides, but the D's were outstanding and made it one awesome Defensive game. Akron put up a fight, too little to late and while they got some great turn over help, it came to far away from scoring position.
Good game, and good Redskin win.

At least in that game the conditions were terrible. Rain, wind, cold, the field was a mess. From the sound of it all there was tonight was some wind.
Yeah, and Lou Holtz felt compelled to let everyone know about the wind about every 20 seconds. I cannot stand that guy as a commentator. I dunno what pissed me off more? Akron losing, or listening to Lou slobber all over his mic.

One of these days Lou is going to blurt out "Oh, Geez....I can't believe I just went in my pants". At that point, ESPN may ask hi to retire...

I like how Lou predicts a Notre Dame victory every week on ESPN.

And as a commentator, ugh don't even get me started.

Did you hear the part where Holtz talked about players getting injured? He basically said if one of his players got hurt during the game, they better get up and get their ass off the field on their own and not waste any of his time laying on the field. I think there was some awkward silence then as Davis and May were shocked that Holtz just admitted that.

Yep, Lou's little anecdotes don't really fly too well.

And people think JoePa is getting too old. Time to put Lou out to pasture.

Didn't this game clinch the East for Miami? Even next week if they lose against Ohio they have beat BG and Buffalo, so they have tie-breakers against both, correct?

Lou cannot talk without stumbling all over himself. Time to hang it up, kiddo.

Miami can clinch the East Sat when BG, I mean, if BG beats Buffalo.
IF Buffalo wins, Miami will need to beat Ohio the following week to clinch...no matter the outcome of Buff/Kent State. If MU loses to OU, Buffalo will win the East if they win out. I think....lol.

Mike,
I"ll admit I haven't followed all the "scenarios" possible in the East, but it would seem that you're right in that MU would then have TWO losses and UB would have ONE (assuming they beat BG)... Got to admit, even with the frustrating games against Miami and OU, this has been a very exciting, "who's on first?" type season in the East.

I agree, Den. Even though BG is now out of the division race, playing meaningful games in Nov is great. And with all the talent coming back in 08, we should be in the thick of things again. We still have 2 games to win and then, very possibly, a bowl game. So much to play for yet!

I was there and oh yea it was windy. All the int's were into the same endzone I believe.

The MU linebackers are fast and hit hard and are sure tacklers and are very impressive. The MU O line is very good and very young. They're just getting better.

The Akron corners did a good job on the WRs of MU.

That being said, the Akron QB is not good. The MU QB is good if given six or seven seconds in the pocket, like he had against Buff. He is not good under any sort of pressure and is prone to making bad decisions.

I can't spell either guys' name, so I'm not going to try.

From the stands it looked like MU was waaaaaay offsides on that fumble/TD. I saw no replays and figured it was just my bad angle made it look like he jumped.

Did I mention the MU LBs are impressive? Did I mention the MU O line is tough? Miami should be good next year. This year, they are taking advantage of a division that is in another down year.

GO BG!

How many at the game?? Once again it looked real bad when they panned up into the crowd (accurately half a section of the stands). Is this true at most MAC games. EMU game and now this??

No no, he can't talk without slobbering all over himself. If you put a drool catcher on the guy, you could irrigate Sahara. When this guy coached, the locker room speeches looked like the front row of a Gallagher concert.
