BTW ... yeah that sucked, but they're still time for EWU to beat that team up north! I know who my favorite team for the evening is ...

One major point: this was Johnson's THIRD game as a QB and only his second start. Honestly, he played like it. The first two games, he played like an old veteran who had been out there a lot more than he had been.

But I don't blame him totally. I do not think this coaching staff gave him much help today. The offensive game plan was mostly a failure from the start, and I didn't see much effort to change it.

I also don't know why more of these talented running backs aren't being given more of a chance to play during the games when it counts. You've got a lot of talent there -- make use of it.

Oh well, burn this "tape" and on to the next game. Just make sure you stop making stupid mistakes and the offense should be fine for MAC play.

If you would have said 2-1 after these 3 games, I would have been fine with that. Not a pretty game but we have a lot to work with and on the next 3 games. Like someone said, Akron might be more difficult than I thought but we should still be able to handle the next 3. Hopefully get healed up as well.

Besides Coppit and Johnson, I think Bryan Thomas was down late in the game. Hopefully none were serious injuries.

This game reminded me of the Virginia Twch game last year where we played a good first quarter then our miscues and mistakes all snowballed on us.

Sounds about right...would have liked to have seen what we could have done if we had kept the pressure on them by by putting up a couple of TD's instead of missing 2/3 FG's...but once they got rolling that was it.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Absolutely correct. The biggest strength of the team is the depth and variety of skill at running back and Ruggeiro is throwing 70% of the time to receivers who still struggle with the basic fundamentals of catching and getting seperation.

When we do run, it's the zone read from the shotgun where 3 seconds elapses between the snap of the ball and the handoff, giving the defense time to penetrate the front and no opportunity for the backs to go downhill.

Indiana's defense "played like (they) were the worst defense that's ever played in the history of the universe" last week according to none other than their own head coach and we can't score a TD against them?

The commentators like to make a big deal about our coordinators hanging around and not leaving for greener pastures. Ruggiero acts like he's doing us a favor by continuing to grace us with his presence when the offense has been at the bottom of the conference for 3+ years and counting. Who'd want him? Unacceptable and disappointing.

Nothing you can do against a team with better athletes than you. Offense should be able to score on this defense with some ease.

If Indiana has better athletes than us we are not even in the top half of college football. They are nothing special and will be in the lower half of the B10.

this topic has turned so very negative. I guess the title is the reason. Let's let it go and move on.
