I CAN"T STAND the Buckeyes/the Big Ten or their GD fans!
I apologize bro...it is soooooo frustrating not seeing 20K for every game, no matter who the opponent. We have a very good team with post season written all over it and we get 13,799 for Homecoming?? Yeah I know...it was raining like a Joy Behar before the game but it turned out to be a decent afternoon for the game.
The concession stands are a joke...no question. I really hope Kingston works some magic in this area.

I don't have a person I graduated with that I was friends with in school who follows them at all.
13K at homecoming is horrendous. Something has to be done to connect students and the community with BG athletics and get alums to come back.
Let's see....YOU haven't been to a BG game since.....2003! And YOU are saying that 13K at homecoming is horrendous? Glad to see that you're helping out with support for your alma mater!!!
That was part of my point. I don't feel a draw to go to a game.

Globetrotter, we are in the midst of our best season in nearly a decade. What more draw do you need?!

I'll treat this like a real question.
I need it to be an event. Like I said below. I'm not a big football game guy. I can watch it from my home in Cbus and watch 15 other games and fold my laundry. Now if I was coming up to tailgate all day, watch the OSU game from the parking lot with friends and making new friends, going to my closely located hotel that shuttled me to downtown for the night and back I would come. I know that's kind of absurd to ask but this is what would actually draw me in. Right now the inconvenience of driving 2 hours, not drinking because I won't stay there, not knowing a ton of people who are going to the game then driving back sounds more tiresome then fun. And I am not saying that I am right or wrong with this, but this is going to be most people's mentality. BG needs to make it worth some of these minor hassles.

I agree somewhat. People need to see a reason to come, and right now people see a lot of reason to not come (i.e. horrible food at concessions). But, if we setup TVs in the tailgate area so people can watch OSU, I'm giving up.

It would be annoying as hell. But I would bet that it would get buts in seats.

Was the game changed from 2016? At least, I thought that's when we were to play them.
As to our "standings" in the attendance wars of the MAC, just for your info. KSU drew 18773 for THEIR Homecoming game vs. N.Ill. (Yeah, it's a bigger draw than U.Mass- who incidentally seemed to have over a hundred or so at our game).... Akron, on the other hand, drew 19,775 yesterday vs. OU.... another "better" draw. WE drew supposedly 13 K + for our Homecoming game.... so our attendance this year has basically been 18, 16, 13, 13K for our first four home games.... this for a 5-1 team, not an Akron, or even a KSU (which probably benefitted from last yrs. success). Haven't checked out the other MAC game attendance yet, 13K for HOMECOMING? Pathetic!!!
And we hope to retain successful coaches with this kind of support???
You're right, it's 2016. My bad! That would be incredible to beat them though. Hopefully Clawson sticks around long enough!

I guess I'm just too much of a diehard to really understand the whole social aspect of it. Sure I go with friends usually, and the game gives us all a reason to meet up and discuss things outside of football, etc, and that's fine. But make no bones about it, I'm going to the game because I want to watch the game. I don't drink, I drive two hours in from the Cleveland area and back for each home game, and I guess I just don't need anything else but the game to keep me occupied. Winning is enough for me. In fact, losing is probably the one thing that will keep me away.

Winning is EXTREMELY important. However, if I don't have anybody to go to the game with, I don't really have much fun.
I am in Cbus, have tons of friends that are diehard bucs fans. They go down by the stadium, tailgate, go to the bars, hang out together in the parking lots and watch the game on tvs they bring. There are probably 3x the number of people who go to OSU games to sit outside and NEVER go into the game then people who even go to BG games.
Put TV's in parking lots and people never come in. Due to schedule conflicts I've arrived late and this already happens. I agree it must be an event but you better move the festivities inside for the game.

Shut down the tvs 5 minutes before and then start it up 5 mins after
Aren't burnt brats and uncomfortable bleachairs the real problem? Take care of those of us that are showing up, and others will follow. Buck the nuts noise!

I don't think that's how it works. You will show up no matter what. They shouldn't even care about you other then doing the bare minimum to keep you around.
Is it safe to say we led the MAC in attendance during the McClure, Jacobs and Harris campaigns? Those guys had legitimate NFL potential and brought excitement to campus and community. It seems over 20 thousand was the norm when they played. Quarterback play has been weak the last few years. If fact, I would bet most students on campus do not even know whom the signal caller is.
