Re: Scot Loeffler
With Polian, I played around with who his potential staff could be. A fruitless task even if he was hired. With Loeffler it's been much harder because 1) he wasn't a head coach recently and 2)his staff all have jobs I wouldn't see them leaving.

Boy, that would be a fun get.Flipper wrote:Worth noting that BGSU has an offer out to high *** QB Sam Johnson from Walled Lake, MI. He's a verbal to BC...but he was recruited there by.....Scot Loeffler
Recruiting in Michigan is definitely going to get stronger given Loeffler's resume.

Re: Scot Loeffler
Press conference is over, nothing earth shattering. Scot was a bit nervous, called BG "Bowling Green University" but we'll let it slide. Commented on fostering relationships with high school coaches in the region, making sure players that graduate are ready for life, and giving a relentless effort. Says he will hire a great staff and it sounds like he already has individuals identified for specific positions.

Re: Scot Loeffler
interesting find. The Auburn DC when he was there is Brian VanGorder who was just DC at Louisville. 2 members of his staff Mike Pelton and Tommy Thigpen (who coached here before) may be available. Pelton doesn't appear to have coached last year after leaving Ga Tech. Thigpen was on the NC staff and may not be retained.

VanGorder may be too good for us.

Re: Scot Loeffler
Bryce Veasley is still in the program, right? See lots of chatter around Doege, Loy and a recruit's future in the program, but I'm excited to see Veasley suit up and take snaps.

I say this loud and clear...we DO NOT WANT VanGorder in our program. His scheme is extremely complicated and NOT effective in the college ranks. His stops at ND and Louisville will tell you all you need to know. Disaster!!
If Loeffler could cherry pick some BC or VT defensive coaches would be a big win for us.

Yep. No point in speculating. Loeffler told The Blade that he's still evaluating the current staff so we don't know who he'll be keeping or cutting loose. Best to wait a couple weeks and wait to see how it all shakes out.Dayons_Den wrote:Bryce Veasley is still in the program, right?
