Attitude is not in uniforms, locker rooms, weight rooms, film rooms, or stadiums. Attitudes are in people. Sometimes people can change attitudes but sometimes people must be exchanged to change the attitude. For those who were impatient with the past staff’s termination should be happy with the mass migration because this will only speed up the process. THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN before the turn around.roguewarrior wrote:BGSU33 wrote:It sounds like RB Marlow may not be with the team in the fall. I hate to see Doege go, just because he seemed like a good kid and returning your starting QB is always a good thing to help transition to a whole new coaching staff.FalconTurf wrote:Attitude is not in uniforms, locker rooms, weight rooms, film rooms, or stadiums. Other than that I'm with FalconTurf. I was a student, and knew quite a few players on the team, when Blackney left and was replaced with Urban. Many of those guys I knew bolted, and I wasn't surprised in the least (in most instances) with which of them left. The guys I knew that stuck it out were the RIGHT ones to stick around and turn the program around.
I know nothing about Loeffler, and I highly doubt that he's the next Urban Meyer. But even if he's "only" the next Dave Clawson, I don't see a mass of defections as a guaranteed awful thing. This program was a steaming pile of crap for the last 3 years. I'm not gonna get all up in arms if a bunch of the players contributing to that crap leave. If Loeffler is what we hope he is he will weed it out such that the bulk of who can actually HELP this thing turn around will still be here. Get rid of those that aren't part of the solution.
Re: Transfer Watch
What? Do you know the guy? Why would you throw something like that around? These are students. They don't deserve to be personally insultedand targeted like this.roguewarrior wrote:BGSU33 wrote:It sounds like RB Marlow may not be with the team in the fall. +1. There is no room for personal attacks on this board, especially of the student athletes.MarkL wrote:What? Do you know the guy? Why would you throw something like that around? These are students. Re: Transfer Watch
I just heard that DE Anthony Johnson, one of our top recruits from this year's Scot Loeffler class, is gone. And guys, there's more departures coming. The hits keep coming and coming and coming....
GO BG!!!
Re: Transfer Watch
And for those who want to say "next man up" with all these departures, defections and transfers, it just doesn't apply to BG right now. In normal situations, yes, that's the take and mindset. But BG is literally a shell of a team right now. We're already thin at even fielding legit starters in a lot of spots and there is zero depth at numerous positions across the board both offensively and especially defensively. We're actually moving some guys to the other side of the ball to positions they haven't and don't play simply to have numbers there. It's not good and it continues to get worse as the weeks pass. This is about as decimated of a team/roster that I have seen in the 25+ years I've followed BG football.
GO BG!!!
Re: Transfer Watch
And that would be yet another huge blow as he was projected as a starter.Tony4BG wrote:Yeah, still listed on roster but have heard he may have left the teamFalcon Commander wrote:https://bgsufalcons.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=7505

Ouch, in transfer portal even before starting at BG.
Someone correct me if wrong, regardless of how many guys leave, BG can only sign 25 guys for upcoming season?
Re: Transfer Watch
It is a total rebuild. Loeffler has such a good staff that I trust him to do it. This will be a tough year but it is an investment. Like 2010.

Re: Transfer Watch
To shed some light on whether Doege leaving was expected or a surprise from a couple days ago, I was told it was NOT expected that he was leaving. We all know Doege said he was staying a few months ago after Jinks and his brother Seth left, but from what I was told our coaches fully expected him to remain at BG and he was slated as the starter. To me, that all but rules out that a grad transfer was in the works to come here that prompted this happening. That's not to say one still isn't at some point. IMO it almost needs and has to at this point. This looks like a case of Doege saying he was done with BG.
GO BG!!!
