Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba.com Bus
When my dad told me I couldn't drive my (well really his) car to away games, I started thinking of other means of transportation. I think we should get a collection going for an Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba.com bus that we can all take instead of the Falcon Club bus! Even one of the short busses or a VW Microbus as Grant mentioned to me earlier. We could paint it up and everything! What do you all think about this??

Bus idea
I love the idea and my soon-to-be wife's family has an old vw bus that they converted in the "Shag Wagon" for OSU trips. Its a pretty sweet ride with a Gray shag carpet and a small loveseat in the back.
To bad the colors make me sick ::puke:: GO Orange and Brown!!!

I have always wanted to buy an old short bus. Paint it orange of course. I could use it for BG and Browns games. The RV I rented last year for the NIU/BG game was great, until the crapper filled up and I didn't know how to empty it. If you ever rent one, pay attention when they show you what to do. Leason learned!
You Bowling Green fans are priceless! LOL, I can not think of anything more appropriate than a bunch of BG fans riding around in a short bus.Falcon52 wrote:I have always wanted to buy an old short bus. Paint it orange of course. Well you can always thing big too. Stepping into dreamland for a bit....
You can buy a used tour bus for between $75,000 and $200,000. Cost will depend on how well apointed the bus is, how reacently the engine was rebuilt, etc. Then you need a driver. I was surprised by how nice of a bus you could by for $150,000. There are several well known companies in northern Indiana which deal in new, used, and rebuilding tour buses.
Give or take the size of the bus, the number of trips you take per year, factor in fuel, upkeep, and assume a modest upgrade in decor, the cost to a group of people isn't really too high. The key is having a serious group of people, the money up-front, and a few people that can drive.
You might even expand the pool beyond the seating capacity since not all folks would ride to all games.
Food for thought.
What might be more doable, would be a cheaper, former school bus, converted to function as a tail-gate base station. IE: built-in BBQ deck, awnings/attached tent, a major sound system, big-screen TV mounted on the side, DSS, etc. Something that could be owned collectively, not rub egos or hurt feelings by some folks not being able to buy-into it. Something the collective AZZ group could work on, as a labor of love. Something that would roll into unfriendly parkinglots and even roll through local parades!
Silly stuff, but we all know enough people that could draw up an LLC, or some non-profit thing, which would protect all involved, create some structure for dealing with money, etc.
It could be fun.
