Maybe wrong place for this....about Krebs

Hello all....new to the forum!
With all the negative vibes lately due to fb and mbb seasons, it seems too much is being written about coaches in light of possibly losing the best thing the BGSU Athletic Department has going for it...Krebs.
It is so easy to complain and ask for change...whether it be change of coach or change of facility. However, I challenge the group who frequent this board to ask about have we all done all we can do?
Just my opinion, but the Falcon Club as it is run right now is seriously lacking in so many areas...creative thought being the #1 thing. Seeliger has not gotten it done, which makes me fear his leadership if and when Krebs leaves BG!!!
Nobody can blame Krebs for thinking about leaving, look at all that many programs have accomplished in his time. But in light of that he still can not get his fund raisers to raise any substantial monies, I mean take Sebo out of the equation and very little else has really been done.
If anyone here wants Krebs to stick around, the ship may have already sailed. But the time has come for folks to work harder and for Falcon Club members to demand better! There are BG folks out there who will give if approached the right way...but they must be found and presented a clear plan to get involved. This development staff has let BGSU down, perhaps that is Krebs fault...but he has played the cards he was dealt and they came up not good enough and now he may leave.
But the dedicated Falcon Fans should demand better and expect more of an effort to raise money for whomever the athletic director. I for one just hope it ends up still being Krebs!!!

There was a big interview of Krebs online in the Albuquerque Tribune- sorry I don't have a link- someone gave me a copy. They seem to like what he says.

Seeliger isn't even in charge of the Falcon Club...

He had his interview last week. The board of regents will vote next week on the new AD.

The Falcon Club raises scholarship money. It does not raise funds for facilities and salaries, nor does it market Falcon athletics. It is a booster organization. The only responsibility of the Falcon Club is to gain members to raise more money for scholarships.

Are you a member of the Falcon Club? If so, why not run for one of the Advisory Board positions? They are involved with running the Falcon Club.
If you're not a member of the Falcon Club - why not?
Scott Seeliger is not in charge of the Falcon Club. The director of the Falcon Club is Jane Myers.

I am not worried if Paul Krebs leaves BGSU. He is a great man and New Mexico would be very lucky to get him. But I also have a tremendous amount of respect for Dr. Ribeau and I know that he will conduct a national search looking for the right individual to take us to the next level if Paul Krebs were to leave.
And Krebs isn't gone yet.

I fear we may have peeked. What if in 5 years Krebs is gone, Toledo is in the Big East, we have a half built Sebo center, Curt Miller is gone, our Basketball team is worse.
The sky is falling, but these are all possibilities.

Did you seriously just say that the sky is falling?
Put on your tinfoil helmets, folks. The metal ones are surely coming, too!

I think he was kidding about the sky falling based on the use of the word "but". Even so, only 3 of the 5 are possibilities. the Sebo will get done and our b-ball team couldn't possibly be worse.

I really hope he was, and I may have misread it as I just woke up and am working on my coffee IV as we speak. It just can't be possible that things have gotten
that bad around here...

See......this turns into MBB or FB when that is not the issue. The issue is our lack of fundraising!
A few points.....
The prior 4 years in football were arguably the best 4 years of BG Football in recent memory....what has it gotten us?
Both Ball State and Northern Illinois have already raised 100% of the money needed for their "Sebo Centers" and they are bigger and nicer. We still can not even get the last 3 million needed for our watered down version compared to theirs. How is that so? Success - no. More wealthy alums - no. I just feel that our development office (Seeliger) has not made the effort to connect with the right people and to find the right people, they are out there.
I personally know an attorney in Houston, who happens to be a partner at a major law firm in Houston, that is a BG Alum and on the radar screen of the development office but has not been approached in any kind of organized or logical fashion. He has money and is ready to give, but needs to be approached in a logical fashion and shown a plan...maybe even have his ego stroked a little. But this staff has not been able to get that done.
I understand who runs the Falcon Club, but my point is that it all falls under development which is the area over which Seeliger resides. Regarding the Falcon Club, I have folks I know that have to call and remind them that their membership needs to be renewed as they do not receive anything from the Falcon Club....what a joke that is.
The growth we all hoped to see from our on field success has not happened in terms of fund raising or attendance. Krebs will continue to work towards fixing those things, however anyone that knows him would be inclined to tell you that fundraising is not his best attribute. So he has placed faith in people to handle that area that are not good at it and we are seeing the lack of results now while other MAC schools are getting what they need to improve their programs.
Losing Krebs would set us back and I just hope he does not get that job at NM or turns it down. With his leadership and plans, combined with effective fund raisers (new ones!), we could take off literally. If he leaves, I agree Dr. Ribeau will find the best person out there....I just can not see who that is right now??
