You're right. Yesterday was Temple.
But lookat their overall record. They have the experience and the knowledge.
When you and and Option QB get a team a division title and a bowl game win, then maybe I'll believe you.

I'm not saying I'd be a better coach. I have no coaching experience whatsoever, and don't claim to be a better option than what we have now (except jokingly in another thread).
What I will never do is stand by and say that our coaches are perfect. You would be foolish to say they're an improvement over the previous coaching staff, despite the improved record. The fact is that the previous coaching staff, and this current staff have done a remarkable job recruiting talent that is among the best in the MAC. This talent differential is directly responsible for many of those wins, as a trained chimp could coach this group to a win over the likes of Temple.
I don't downplay the value of this recruiting, it is possibly the most important part of any college coaching staff. But that alone doesn't make them omnipotent. You say to look at their overall record...they're 13-5. Make that 10-5 against 1-A opponents. That isn't the record of someone I'd be ready to sign to lifetime contracts. More disturbing is a record of 4-5 in games where we were matched against opponents of similar talent levels or better (OU, Purdue, OSU, NIU, Miami, UT). I'd have to look it up to be sure, but I'd bet we were double digit favorites in all of the other games, outside of those 9. They've done a good job pummeling some of the overmatched teams, but we did let the likes of EMU & KSU stay in games when they shouldn't have last season.
Well coached football teams destroy the teams they are supposed to and win more than half of the evenly matched/upset type games. More importantly well coached teams NEVER show up flat to big games, as we did at NIU this year & the first Miami game last year; both on national television, to boot.
Is our coaching staff doing a good job? Yes, I would say they are. But at the same time I will have to see more from them to believe that they are doing enough to get BG football to the level I want to see it. As for Experience, Brandon has 18 games of head coaching experience & Coach stud has the same as an OC. That is hardly the resumé of what I would call experienced coaches. Because of this, I'm hopeful that they will learn from their mistakes and become good coaches, but I'm not yet convinced. At the same time I'm not saying that I would be a viable replacement.
